Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence Coupe:
Luxury Crossover for Entertaining and Shelter
Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence Coupe
Ocean Alexander has expanded its 45 Divergence series with a new coupe version. The quad-outboard-powered boat has an enclosed pilothouse with a horseshoe-shaped lounge to port and the helm to starboard. There’s room to catch some rays in the aft cockpit, especially when the fold-out bulwarks are opened. Below, she has a full-beam master stateroom aft with VIP quarters in the bow. In between, there’s an inviting salon and galley and a private head has a separate shower. More...

Cruisers Yachts 60 Fly:
Flying Bridge is a Valuable Upgrade
Cruisers Yachts builds the 60 Fly on the same hull as the 60 Cantius express yacht. The flying bridge adds 4,200 lbs. (1,905 kg), which is an 8 percent increase in weight, but her added cost and weight is more than made up for in added utility. Not only is a fresh-air helm added, but also another entertaining venue and sunning area. It is certainly worth the relatively modest up charge, in our opinion. When powered by twin 725-hp Volvo Penta IPS 950 pods, the express runs at a top speed of 33.9 knots while the 60 Fly hits 32.4 knots. Best cruise for the Cantius 60 was 22.6 knots and the fuel burn was 43.5 gph. The flying bridge version cruised at 21.9 knots and burned 47 gph. More...

Nimbus T9:
Euro-Dayboat Sleeps 2
Nimbus’ new T9 is a dayboat designed for summer entertaining and, perhaps, a bit of over-nighting. In the cockpit, there are horseshoe-shaped benches around a removable table. Stow the table in its dedicated rack and the backrest can be used to create a sunpad. The back side of the leaning post flips open to reveal an optional stainless-steel sink and grill. The hardtop is one of three available overhead offerings and includes LED lights, rocket-launcher-style rod holders and an 81” x 49” (205.7 cm x 124.4 cm) canvas sunroof. Belowdecks, there’s space for a couple to overnight plus a private head compartment. More...

ULTRA Anchor For All Bottoms
All ULTRA anchors are hand-polished to a shimmer.
ULTRA anchors are designed to work through the stem, integrated into a pulpit or as part of a roller system. They are made from hand-polished stainless steel and the weight and serial model are stamped into the shank. Models range from 11 to 800 lbs. (5 kg to 360 kg). The anchor is designed with internal weight in the spade tip, a swivel, and side plates that conventional plow anchors don’t have, so when it’s deployed it always falls into the attack position. More and more builders are equipping their boats with these anchors as standard equipment because of their effectiveness, even though they are more expensive than conventional anchors. BoatTEST captains have tested this anchor design on sand, rock, gravel and mud and experienced setting on the first try, virtually every time. More...

Australia Eases Boating Restrictions
Queensland and Western Australia have loosened COVID-19 restrictions on recreational power boating. Members of the same household can travel 50 km from home for pleasure boating as of Saturday. Fishing and using non-motorized boats for exercise had been allowed previously. Boaters still need to practice social distancing and are encouraged to be smart when on the water. More...
Obituary
Bobby Moore Passes Away
Billy (left) and Bobby Moore were victorious many times in offshore racing.
Offshore powerboat racing legend Bobby Moore died at the age of 80 on Sunday morning. Moore is best known as the man who invented the throttleman’s position, which revolutionized the sport. In addition to racing hulls he rigged, Moore built boats for nearly all of the top teams in the sport at Bobby Moore’s Custom Marine, which was based on the famous NE 188th Street in Miami, during offshore racing’s hay days in the 19070s and ‘80s. BoattestLEASING:
Looking for Boats To Lease
BoattestLEASING is now looking for late-model, premium boats from 26’ to 35’ (7.92 m to 10.66 m) to lease to like-minded boaters in the eastern U.S. Boat Leasing is now trending strongly, given the times we live in. Boats are a safe and healthy way for a family to have fun outside and at the same time maintain social distancing. By leasing unused days in a boat, owners are utilizing a valuable asset for a financial return on the investment. BoatTEST’s leasing program helps boat owners pay down their boat loan, as well as to cover a portion of annual operating costs.
