Palm Beach Reopening

Boaters in Palm Beach County will be excited to get back on the water.

Marinas and boat ramps in Palm Beach County, Fla., will also open today at 12:01 a.m., according to an executive order made by mayor Dave Kerner. Water-based activities including kayaking, fishing, water skiing and wake boarding and surfing will all be allowed as long as physical distances are maintained.

Passenger Limits

As in Miami, boats in Palm Beach County must remain 50’ (15.24 m) apart and no rafting up or beaching on sandbars or open beaches will be permitted. Additionally, no gatherings of more than 10 people are allowed.

Launch ramps in Palm Beach County will likely be much busier starting today.

Palm Beach County is also limiting the number of passengers on vessels based on boat length. Boats measuring 25’ (7.62 m) or less can have no more than four adult passengers. Six adults can be on a vessel measuring between 26’ (7.92 m) and 36’ (10.97 m). Boats between 37’ (11.28 m) and 60’ (18.29 m) long will be allowed eight adults and on boats longer than 60’ (18.29 m), the limit is 10, not including crew.

“You can really abide by and participate in all these recreational activities if you just use common sense,” Kerner said in a statement.
