Paraffin was built in steel and aluminium by Dutch yard Feadship to a design by De Voogt Naval Architects. Delivered in 2001, the yacht received a thorough refit in 2010 and can welcome up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. She also features one of the most impressive wine cellars of any superyacht, with the capacity to hold 400 bottles - 200 of which are stored in a glass-fronted display case near the formal dining area. There is also a full bar in dark wood with plush leather stools, providing an ideal place to sample one of the many vintages found on board.

Like so many other yachts this season, Paraffin was forced to reroute around Africa for a summer in the Mediterranean, but not before enjoying an extended cruise through Asia's up-and-coming yachting scene. Taking full advantage of Japan's recently eased superyacht regulations, Paraffin began the year with a visit to Osaka – no doubt to experience the destination's intoxicating food scene – with further stops along Singapore, Phuket in Thailand and Sri Lanka.
