PWC Buying Secrets | Solar DIY Hack | 200-Hr Pre-Owned Yacht - 8/5/2026

SHALLOW DRAFT The MJM 38X pairs twin 300-hp Mercury outboards with an HVAC pilothouse that closes up in rough weather or opens wide on a calm afternoon. Joystick control and Skyhook station keeping make close-quarters docking simple, while a draft of 21.5 inches up lets her push into skinny water most 38-footers avoid.

FIVE-STATEROOM SPREAD Horizon's FD100 Hull 11 runs 101 feet 7 inches with a 23-foot-9-inch beam, and the tri-deck layout carries a skylounge on the bridge deck before a Jacuzzi takes the top deck above a beach club at the waterline. Twin CAT C32A 1,900-hp engines and 4,000 gallons of fuel keep her set up for extended stays aboard.

RECENTLY SERVICED Located in Riviera Dunes, Florida, this 2024 Absolute 52 Navetta has just over 200 hours on her twin Volvo Penta IPS650s and received her 200-hour service in July 2026. A Seakeeper, Dockmate remote docking, Starlink and ElectroSea system are already aboard, making her ready for the next owner.

OFF THE GRID Capt. Trip Smith rigs a fixed solar array onto his C-Dory 22, the "Tiny Yacht," and wires a portable power station straight into her DC sub-panel through an XT60 plug. Watch how much charge she pulls in under heavy overcast skies, and whether it is enough to keep her lighting and radio running without a plug-in.

FIVE PALETTES Five interior palettes built around beige, earth, and cream tones debut on the ninth hull of Galeon's 700 Sky, developed with Hong Kong-based InSitu Design. The layout keeps a full-beam master amidships and a forward VIP suite, with guest cabins that convert to a single berth hiding a fold-out desk in the hull side.

HIDDEN WATER LINE Len's Cove Marina walks through the one inspection step most PWC shoppers skip: pulling the seats and checking the engine compartment for a water line that signals a flooded or sunk unit. The video also covers financing, factory warranty coverage, and why a 3-to-6-year-old Sea-Doo typically sells for 60 to 70 percent of new.
