Sailfish Boats Expands, Adds 70 Jobs

The 360 CC is the flagship of the Sailfish line that includes models ranging from 21’ (6.4 m) to 36’ (10.97 m).

Sailfish Boats is planning to invest more than $1 million and increase its workforce by more than 30% with an expansion to its headquarters in Cairo, Ga. The company says the addition is the result of a sharp increase in customer and dealer demand for fishing and recreational boats.

Unparalleled Growth

Established in 1986, Sailfish Boats builds center- and dual-console boats for fishing and recreational use. They are known for their high freeboard and variable deadrise bottom design. The company is headquartered in Cairo, Georgia, and currently has 130 employees. When the expansion is complete, the company will nearly 200 workers.

“For 35 years, we have called Cairo, Georgia, and Grady County our home,” Rob Parmentier, president and CEO of Sailfish, told valdostatoday.com. “Our current and forecasted growth is the result of upcoming new product introductions and development, a 35% increase of our distribution network, and sheer market demand for offshore/inshore fishing boats.”

 

The company is looking for employees to work in a number of departments.

The company will be hiring workers in engineering and production as well as lamination and assembly.

Sailfish worked with the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s global commerce division in partnership with the Grady County Joint Development Authority and the Technical College System of Georgia.
