Sharrow Props Are “Pet Friendly” On 46’ Cruising Catamaran

At the 2025 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, boat-owner Marty Silverman stopped into the Sharrow Marine booth to explain his experience with a set of Sharrow Props by Veem – and it was caught on video!. Silverman owns a 2-year old Leopard 46 power catamaran, “Seapaws,” powered by twin 370-hp Yanmar diesel engines. He changed his standard 4-blade Nibral props to 5-blade Sharrow Props by Veem one year ago, and has had adequate time to gauge the difference in the two designs. In this video supplied by Sharrow Marine, he reports on the difference in fuel consumption, noise, vibration and boat handling between the two props designs.

Silverman claims that not only did the Sharrow props improve his fuel efficacy in the 18 to 20-knot speed range, but also reduced noise and vibration.  According to Silverman, this change was so noticeable, he considers the Sharrow props “pet friendly.”
