SiriusXM Weather

Providing Vital Up-To-Date Information Offshore

SiriusXM Marine’s weather service helps boaters in two ways - by offering features that help a captain navigate around current storms and see the upcoming conditions as far offshore as 150 nautical miles. Features include satellite weather radar, storm cell data, lightning strikes, marine-zone forecasts, wind and wave information, and more. Graphical features are shown directly on a boat’s multifunction display. The service is available on Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, Simrad, Lowrance and B&G displays with compatible receivers. Subscriptions range from $14.99/month to $59.99/month and the service can be suspended for up to 6 months for the offseason.

Fleming Yachts 85

World-Ranging Trawler w/Skylounge

Fleming Yachts’ 85 is the flagship of the company’s line of long-range cruising yachts. She’s available in a three- or four-cabin plan with a choice of crew-quarter layouts. In either configuration, the master stateroom spans the yacht’s beam with the berth on the centerline and a small settee outboard to port. The en suite head has a separate shower stall. The VIP is in the bow with its own head and a port-side guest cabin has two single berths. If an owner opts for the fourth cabin, it is to starboard with bunk-style berths. As we always say with Fleming – plan ahead and order now.  The yard’s capacity is limited and there are many Fleming owners who would like to move up. More...

Axopar 37 XC Revolution

Modular Design Offers Stern Options

The 37’9” (11.51 m) Axopar 37 XC first appeared in 2016 and the Revolution came out in 2020 with an improved running surface and updated interior. She’s available in the open Spyder, the hardtop ST and full-cabin XC. The company builds the boat with a modular stern. The standard is left open and an owner can upgrade to a wetbar with a top-load refrigerator and a grill. The next module is an aft cabin accessed from the pilothouse that leads to a cabin that sleeps two. This boat is one of the hottest sellers on the market. Unfortunately, like most boats people want, Axopars are sold out at retail until next spring.  We highly recommend that anyone interested in an Axopar contact a dealer now and get their name on a production slot at the factory. Fountain 39 NX

Evolved Helm Provides More Control

For decades, Fountain Powerboats had the throttle and shift controls on the left side of the helm on its performance boats. Company founder Reggie Fountain II had always said it was so a second person — namely him — could throttle the boat and run the trim. On the 39NX center console, digital throttle/shift levers are to the right of the steering wheel with the individual outboard trim buttons just ahead so the driver can adjust them individually with his/her throttling hand. This means his/her left hand can always be on the wheel, which is important on a boat that runs 80.1 mph. When it’s time to slow down, the joystick makes docking effortless. More...

Sea-Doo RXP-X 300

Designed for Aggressive Rider

On a personal watercraft that has a 300-hp engine like the 10’11” (3.32 m) Sea-Doo RXP-X 300, it helps to have some features designed into the machine that help the rider stay on. There’s a padded flare just above the rider’s knee that lets him/her grip the saddle with his or her legs. Additionally, two improvements were made to the seat. The upholstery has a tacky feel and the seatback is adjustable in any of six positions to accommodate riders ranging from 5’2” (1.57 m) to 6’2” (1.87 m). Low-profile handlebars are adjustable, too. Pre-Owned Yacht

2019 39’ Riviera

Ipanema

This 2019 Riviera 395 SUV, Ipanema, just had a price reduction and the warranties only started in 2020. The owner’s new boat has already arrived so we have a motivated seller. She’s powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 500s with only 300 hours on them and the Onan 11.5 kW generator has 500 hours on it. She offers single-level living with an open cockpit that transitions seamlessly to the salon. Belowdecks, she sleeps four. More...

How To Remove Stainless-Steel Stains

It’s ironic that an item called stainless steel can cause some of the hardest-to-remove stains.

Every day we see plenty of stainless hardware failures, some due to the use of poor quality stainless, others due to poor installation practices or lack of maintenance. But what exactly is marine-grade stainless steel and why does even the “good stuff” (316) occasionally fail? Let’s take a look at why stainless steel stains. More...
