The Aegean Yacht sailing yacht, Spirit of the East, was delivered in 2006 and has kept a relatively low profile since. Made entirely of steel, the yacht boasts a range of 2,000 nautical miles when navigating at cruising speed, with power coming from a single Caterpillar diesel engine. She is the only superyacht to be designed by Peter Burnet, who handled both the exterior and interior styling, and can comfortably host up to 10 guests in five staterooms.

True to her name, Spirit of the East spent the initial half of this year sailing along the eastern coast of the Americas, getting to know an array of vibrant cultures across the US, Brazil and Latin American countries. She could be spotted from the shoreline of popular hotspots such as New York, Miami, Santo Domingo, Panama City and Rio de Janeiro on her journey south, reaching as far as Buenos Aires before eventually reverting course. After a bit of time spent indulging in the US state of Georgia (and its oysters, no doubt), Spirit of the East embarked on another voyage towards Central and South America for the second time in six months.
