Sunsail Returns to the Abacos: Charter Business is Vital to Hurricane Recovery

Prior to Hurricane Dorian, the Abacos was one of the favorite Sunsail locations.

Sunsail has announced the return of its charter operations to the Abacos, Bahamas for the 2022 charter season. Two years removed from the devastation of Hurricane Dorian, the islands and cays of the Abacos have returned to form and Sunsail will resume offering charter holidays departing in August 2022.

Sunsail is based in Marsh Harbour on Great Abaco Island.

Josie Tucci, vice president of sales and marketing, commented: “The Abacos have long been one of our most popular charter destinations. Hurricane Dorian in 2019 truly devastated the region, and our business and many of our employees were severely impacted. That makes this return to operations such a rewarding and exciting development, and we very much look forward to welcoming guests aboard again soon.”

Watersports enthusiasts of all kinds flock to the Abacos to recreate and enjoy the sun.

Hurricane Dorian battered the east coast of the US and Canada over a weekend in early September 2019. The devastation caused by the category five hurricane was greatest in the Bahamas, where the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama suffered the worst from sustained winds of well-over 150 miles an hour for more than two days.
