Everglades 253CC

Packed w/Features and Unsinkable

On a sunny day, it can get hot behind a center console with a full-height windshield. Everglades solved this with its patented hydraulic windshield that can be partially lowered to let fresh air flow through and still keep spray off the electronics. The hardtop frame is 2 ½” (6.35 cm) in diameter with 1 ¼” (3.18 cm) grabrails. In a custom touch, the underside of the top is gelcoated to match the hullside color. More...

Outboard Buyers' Guide

Twin 150s or a Single 300?

Manufacturers of center- and dual-consoles used to stick with the rule of thumb that twin outboards are better than a large single for redundancy. With the improved reliability of today’s outboards (and the ubiquitous tow services), more consumers are now looking at going with a big single; the nervous nellies might add a kicker. Some of the issues to consider are weight, fuel consumption, lower unit drag, ease of handling and, of course, total cost. Compare your options and make your choice with the BoatTEST Outboard Buyers’ Guide, which lists more than 207 outboards from virtually all brands.

White River Marine Re-Organizes After

Hatteras Purchase

The new facility will be the headquarters for Hatteras, Mako and Ranger Saltwater.

The addition of Hatteras Yachts to the White River Marine group of boat manufacturers will result in a new saltwater division that will be headquartered in an updated facility in New Bern, N.C. White River Marine is owned by Bass Pro Shops.

In addition to reviving the Hatteras line, White River will relocate the production of saltwater brands Mako and Ranger Saltwater to the new factory. The move frees up capacity at existing manufacturing plants in Miami, Okla., and Flippin, Ark., for additional freshwater-boat production. White River says it anticipates zero job losses. More...
