What Sets Apart Everglades Boats

everglades-interview.png

Everglades Boats’ RAMCAP construction is one of the most innovative manufacturing processes in the industry.

Everglades builds a premium boat, something that is necessarily reflected in the price. But, its boats are built differently than any brand on the market, which costs more money and yields a number of advantages that veteran boaters will appreciate. To find out what this builder does differently – RAMPCAP construction – and why that is so important, we interviewed Everglades’ Sean Hickey. More...

Riviera 395 SUV:

Flexibility for Entertaining

riviera-395suv-080320.png

The Riviera 395 SUV’s stern grill.

The Riviera 395 SUV’s stern is illustrative of the acronym in the boat’s name. She is designed to be versatile and the transom has a concealed sink and grill, plus a tilt-out storage compartment that should be ideal for stowing fenders and lines. It would also be easy to customize this locker to hold dive tanks. Having the sink and grill on the stern also saves entertaining space in the cockpit and salon, and we all know how valuable that real estate can be on an express yacht at party time. More...

Alumacraft Competitor 205:

No Steering Wheel, No Problem

alumacraft-competitor205-080320.png

Alumacraft Competitor 205

One of the things we like most about boating is that virtually anyone can afford it. And, truth be told, the boats that have the best ROI are the least expensive. A prime example of those two observations is the Alumacraft Competitor 205. Our test boat had dual aerated livewells with timers, a Bluetooth stereo and a dash area that included a fishfinder, analog gauges and two storage drawers. Moveable seats can be installed on the raised carpeted foredeck for fishing. It may not have a steering wheel, but the Competitor 205 has what serious anglers want. Outboard power with tiller is optional. More...

Formula 430 All Sport Crossover:

The Face that Launched a Thousand Ships

formula-430asc-080320.png

The 430 ASC is ready for serious fishing.

Well, maybe not quite a thousand ships, yet, but certainly many. Several years ago, Formula introduced the Formula 430 All Sport Crossover, and lightbulbs went on all over the industry. Boat designers couldn’t get to their drafting boards fast enough. A year or so later, it became obvious that the concept of a luxury crossover express had gotten the seal of approval from competitors at all price points. One of the major design innovations of this boat is her remarkably functional stern that is made for watersports, fishing or entertaining. Retractable stainless-steel rails on each side of the platform lock into place to help keep the area secure. If the fish aren’t biting, there are receivers in the swim platform deck for a pair of racks to secure two stand-up paddle boards. There are racks for scuba tanks. All sports appear to be covered. But, all of this is just the beginning. More...

Ocean Alexander 84R:

Refreshingly Modern – Yet Not Over the Top

oceanalex-84r-080320.png

Ocean Alexander 84R

For the second model in the Revolution series, the 84R, Ocean Alexander collaborated with designer Evan K. Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects of Livorno, Italy. The result is a luxury motoryacht available in open and closed flying bridge configurations. Her look is more modern than Ocean Alexander’s traditional models, yet overall, her lines have not strayed over the top. Remember that Marshall learned his trade at the knee of Olin Stephens. All deck spaces are multi-functional. Inside, she has more interior volume in the salon and belowdecks, there’s a full-beam master stateroom with his and her heads, plus a VIP cabin and two guest staterooms. More...
