Voyager - Superyachts Travel Record Distance in First Half of 2024
By Gabrielle Lazaridis
Voyager
Length: 91.4m
Distance traveled: 21,313nm
Originally launched by American yard Swiftships, the 91.4-meter Voyager spent the first two decades of her life as a 63-metre commercial supply vessel called Candy Trader. However, a three-year conversion saw the yacht emerge in 2016 as the largest superyacht conversion ever in the US. She features a helipad, deep dive centre and the capacity to house up to 70 crew across her five decks.
After soaking in the sights of East Asia's mountainous coastlines, Voyager was faced with a rather pressing decision to make. Scheduled to begin an extensive refit with Lloyd Werft in May 2024, she could either brave passage through the Red Sea at a time of sky high insurance rates or deviate around South Africa, adding several weeks to the journey. In the end, Voyager opted to take the long way around to Bremerhaven, where she has now checked in for a number of undisclosed works.
