X Shore Establishes Office in Newport
X Shore, a Swedish electric boat manufacturer, has established a North American sales office in Newport, R.I., with its all-electric Eelex 8000 at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. The office will serve as the year-round continental sales location for X Shore’s North American head of sales Patrick DeSocio.
“We are thrilled to have our North American sales office established in the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard,” said DeSocio. “The boating traffic and visibility here is first-class and with our office being officially open, we are excited to welcome guests to learn more about X Shore and to offer sea trials to those who are interested in the Eelex 8000.”
The Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard is a full-service facility with more than 3,500 linear feet (1,066.8 m) of dock space with space to accommodate yachts more than 300’ (91.4 m) long.
The X Shore sales team will manages strategic initiatives and staging all of its boats at the location. The company is looking to add to its workforce over the next few years. X Shore also has a facility in Sarasota, Fla., that will remain a logistics base that will be used to support the sales team and access the Florida boat show circuit.
The Eelex 8000 has a retail price starting at $329,000. X Shore was founded in 2016 with the intention of developing a line of electrically powered recreational craft.
