“The future of Monaco lies with the sea.” — HSH Prince Rainier III

Nestled gracefully on the eastern edge of the splendidly transformed Port Hercules waterfront in Monaco, the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) stands as a majestic emblem of the Principality. It is a symbol that transcends its physical presence, for it serves as a bridge that connects its members, the vast yachting sector, and the very heart of Monaco itself.

This venerable institution is more than a club; it is a sanctuary where the sea, kindred spirits of the maritime world, and innovative ideas converge, giving birth to significant global endeavors. One of the Principality’s most recognizable landmarks, the Club is a true platform of communication, serving as a link between its members, the yachting industry at large, and Monaco itself.

With HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco as its president since 1984, celebrating his 40th year at the helm of the YCM, the Club contributes to promote the “Rocher” as a destination. The YCM acts as a facilitator and a catalyst for all nautical activities in the Principality. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the new building designed by Lord Foster, demonstrating the Principality’s strong commitment to yachting and its collective vision of “Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting”. Through innovative events that foster sustainable yachting, such as the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge or the SEA Index, the Yacht Club de Monaco underscores its determination to shape the yachting of tomorrow.

Accompanied by a foreword by HSH Prince Albert II, this volume narrated by yachting journalist Jill Bobrow dives into the seventy-plus-year history of the Club while celebrating its members’ continuous support towards a better, greener future. Modern and archival imagery blend in together to honor moments spent on the water, the commitment of royal family members and some of the Club’s unforgettable celebrations.
