YANMAR Launches Advanced VC30 Vessel Control System

YANMAR Marine International has unveiled the VC30, its third-generation Vessel Control System, at METSTRADE. Featuring a redesigned joystick, improved functionality, and simplified installation, the VC30 represents YANMAR’s most advanced integrated marine control solution to date. The system is built to streamline throttle handling, docking, and data visibility within a single, intuitive platform.
Enhanced Design, Display, and Ease of Use
The VC30 introduces a new precision-engineered joystick for more controlled maneuvering as well as an improved, unified design across control heads and switch panels. These redesigned components provide enhanced water resistance and natural-feel push buttons for a consistent and modern interface.
A key upgrade is the larger 4.3” 1000 cd optically bonded display, engineered to reduce reflection and increase readability in bright conditions. With NMEA2000 output and an auto-dimming mode for nighttime operation, the VC30 enhances visibility and operator comfort in all environments.
Installation has also been significantly simplified. With fewer components and only one ECU required, the system installs faster and is easier to configure thanks to an improved graphical user interface. Maintenance is streamlined as well, supporting both new builds and refit projects.
Powerful Joystick Control and Broad Compatibility
The VC30 offers dedicated joystick controls compatible with VETUS bow thrusters, enabling smoother docking and precise low-speed maneuvering in tight waterways. This joystick capability is available for both sterndrive and inboard propulsion setups.
Designed for versatility, the system supports single, twin, and triple-engine configurations and is compatible with YANMAR’s HVO-approved common rail engines—from the JH-CR series (from 40 mhp) up to the 6LT series (to 640 mhp). This range makes the VC30 suitable for a wide variety of vessels, including sailing yachts up to 75 feet, motorboats up to 60 feet, and sailing multihulls.

The VC30 is available for viewing at METSTRADE on the YANMAR Marine International stand (01.343), with YANMAR’s global network of more than 2,000 dealers trained to install and maintain the system.
