Coming at you with an exciting day boat, the Aviara AV28 is packed full of surprises, all designed to enhance your day on the water.

The Aviara AV28 OB is the new entry-level for this luxury lineup of day boats, which currently includes 32-, 36- and 40-foot models. She presents an exciting alternative to what is available in today’s market. Her profile is wrapped in quality and therefore, she is for the owner who desires to stand out from the rest, where price is not a consideration in relation to a well-built boat whose worth and attention to detail is not in question.

With its debut in 2019, the Aviara philosophy was to present an upscale, highly stylized day boat and one possessing the kind of pedigree only found with luxury builds. While a newcomer, and from the beginning, the brand quickly outgrew its building facility in Venore, Tennessee, and settled into its new 38-acre, 140,000-square-foot headquarters in Merritt Island, Florida. Fully trailerable, loaded with standard and desirable options, and detail-oriented, the Aviara 28 OB presents herself well… and then some.

One look at the design and purpose-built bow section on the Aviara AV28 OB will convince any prospective owner of this day boat’s functionality. She provides a safe, comfortable and exciting place to be whether day tripping, participating in water sports, rafting up at a favorite anchorage or even spending some ‘taking-it-all-in-time’ at a secluded gunkhole.

As seen in this overhead shot of the deep bow space, the attention to detail results in comfort and safety. Note the single windshield for the helm and the port opening for access to and from the bow allowing for more room. The windshield opening has friction hinges to protect against slamming or a sudden letting go of the frame.

Helm

With a touch of sporty elegance, the helm aboard the AV28 OB makes driving her pleasurable and exciting. Think Euro sports car making speed along a serpentine roadway along the Amalfi coast of Italy. Yes, that kind of enjoyment.

The starboard helm is as simple as it is practical with elevated touchscreens and all controls, tactile switches and operational functions within easy reach and eyesight. Note the sporty accented wheel, the 12” Simrad Chartplotter and 10.1” Control Screen.

The helm also features a phone charger and USB port.

For the driver’s comfort, the helm also features this double-wide, bolstered bench.

Rounding out the helm area offerings is access to the head, with a porcelain electric toilet and fresh water located on the port end of the console.

Amidships

Considering her size, with an LOA of 30'10" (9.4 m) and an amidships beam of 8'6" (2.6 m), the design and engineering team at Aviara found room to make this space usable and quite functional.

Directly behind the helm is where the optional wet bar is located. With lots of counter space, under which is an electric grill, freshwater sink and pull-out refrigerator, this is a must-have choice to enhance your time aboard. Note the seat joining the wet bar and how one could sit facing aft or to port.

One of the most impressive optional features aboard the Aviara AV28 OB is this power-operated retractable hardtop. In the open position, there is 7'3" (2.2 m) of headroom. The top can also be ordered with an optional board carrier.

In the lowered position, the top affords a unique profile to the area and a shaded spot for taking in a light snack or late afternoon meal. Not the bench seat here that has a table forward and additional multi-person seating over to starboard.

With the teak folding table removed and stowed, it’s easy to see how much seating is available in this area.

Aft End

You might not think that there could be more features on the Aviara AV28 OB, but here on the aft end is where they wrap things up.

With the twin Mercury outboards fully aft, the deck offers easy walking access to either side, with 7’10” (2.4 m) of platform space. Under the starboard side is the hidden telescoping swim ladder. The large sunpad affords a great place to relax or take in the action during waterports activities.

Summary

The Aviara AV28 OB allows you to step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. She is a well-crafted boat, designed and built for those whose nautical tastes are fine-tuned towards expecting the best. With a host of outstanding options, yours will be a personal statement of ownership and one you will look forward to taking out time after time.
