Crest Conquest 220 SE Cruise

1 x 115-hp Outboard

Brief Summary

The Crest Conquest 22SE is a ponton which finds itself at the junction of  several important intersections. The first is with the company itself. Crest, located in Owosso, Michigan, since its inception almost 70 years ago now, still designs, engineers, and builds its lineup of pontoon boats in the same location.

The links continue with all aspects of the hand-built construction done in-house. From the custom crafted furniture, to the precise welding techniques, to comfort, safety, and along with the company heritage, all coinciding and resulting in a pontoon ready, willing, and very able to provide fun, excitement, and memorable times out on the water.

A Look at Construction

The importance of sturdy construction is paramount with any boat and aboard the Crest Conquest 22SE, this aspect of its ability to provide a safe and reliable platform is central to the company’s almost 70 year history and is built into every boat that leaves the factory. Attention to detail, welding techniques for strength, and a durable, long lasting structure enables this pontoon to last.

The Crest Conquest 22SE is the first triton in the SE lineup and features the same quality construction as found across all the models offered with a focus on performance.
pontoon tubes

Nowhere is it more important for strict quality control than that found here, in the structural integrity of the box frame construction. This enables the Crest Conquest 22SE to provide a quiet and smooth ride.
up close welding

Known for their superior welding techniques, the craftspeople at Crest make sure all seams and other areas are carefully inspected for strength and proper integrity.
pontoon running on water

Full length lifting strakes are found on both sides of all three pontoons with the placement of the running surfaces a result of comprehensive computer modeling and testing.
nose cones

The nose cones feature spray fins.
nose cones

Another important element is this bracket extending the entire length of the nose cones. This adds additional structural strength to the area.
underneath pontoon

For chassis strength and integrity, Crest uses its WEBB System...for Welded Extruded Box Beam. Located underneath the deck, the box beam provides structural and tortional rigidity.
box beams

The box beams extend to the end of the deck trim and supplies strength when, and if, anything but egg shell landings occur.
view of aluminum skin

An aluminum skin is also provided and extends the full length of the boat
railing

Above the deck, rigidity is also found in the powder coated railings, this to prevent any rattling or vibration while underway.
smooth edge railing

Smooth, round edges prevent any chance of injury to hands while providing a nice look.
hinges on the door

High quality, stainless hinges are used everywhere there is a door.
doors on pontoon

All doors securely lock and will not spring open or jar loose while underway.
bimini frame

The Bimini frame is also powder coated and built to the same standards as found elsewhere aboard the Crest Conquest 22SE.

All locking mechanisms, like these found on the Bimini frame, are stainless and fit securely so as to provide a vibration and rattle-free fit.

A Word About Performance

As we found out during our test day, a day out aboard a Crest Conquest 22SE is a fun event no matter what kind of on-water experience you are seeking. With her maximum optimum power provided by an optional single 115-hp, excitement underway comes standard.

pontoon running on water

Nimble and precise handling is provided by the optional electric power assist XPA steering.

Our test day saw the wind between 5-10 knots, with an air temperature of 62° and relative humidity at 55%. We had two passengers aboard with 90% of the boat’s 28 gallon fuel capacity in the tank. Our Crest Conquest 22SE was powered by an optional 115-hp Suzuki outboard equipped with a 15 ¼ x 19 stainless Watergrip prop.

We found our top speed registered at 39.0 mph turning 6000 rpm. Our test boat was also equipped with optional XPA electric power assist steering which gave us sparkling control and quick response to the helm. Docking was also made easy with this feature.
