Utilizing the space on a day boat of her size means being able to augment the existing dimensions with the most inventive and creative ways possible to get the most out of her 32.480ft/9.9m length and 10.499ft/3.2m beam. To that end, the design and engineering teams at De Antonio, using all the latest computer design programs along with their own visionary sense, came up with sensible and workable layouts for both deck and the pair of cabins.

Bow

The usefulness of the bow area on a day boat cannot be underestimated and on the De Antonio D32 Open, the space is laid out to enjoy while underway, at anchor, or even taking some time in the dock after a day out on the water.

Helm

In designing the helm of the D32 Open, the De Antonio engineering team followed the dramatic, angular lines of her exterior. The result is both impressive and workable.

Living Accommodations

Just to port of the helm console is the sliding door entrance to the pair of cabins aboard the De Antonio D32 Open. Given her size, this is a particularly welcome addition as her day-boat profile can be extended to weekend or extended time away from home.

Cockpit

No matter where one looks aboard the De Antonio D32 Open, her design takes full advantage of all usable space including here, in the cockpit area. 

Machinery Space

Usually, on a boat of this size, requiring an intricate access deck consisting of a lift mechanism to access the space, De Antonio has a much simpler solution. A single, easy-to-lift, one-sided hatch using the table without having to remove the pedestals.

Aft

The aft section on the De Antonio D32 Open does double duty as both a large sunpad, measuring 78” x 66”, and access to the twin Mercury outboards. Without the engines traditionally mounted off the transom, there is an added safety factor for those in the water coming aboard or going in. In addition, while underway, it’s a lot quieter.

Our test boat was equipped with a pair of 300-hp V8 Mercury Verado outboards. With a smooth, easy wind up from idle to 6000 rpm, we hit a WOT speed of 53.2 mph/46.2kn. Our best cruise came in at 41.2mph/35.8kn AT 5000 RPM. Our range at the speed was calculated to be 222.7 nautical miles with a 10% reserve of our 172-gallon fuel capacity. 

Test day saw calm conditions with no discernable sea to deal with. She handled all maneuvers, including tight turns and straight runs with a sports car feel and when slightly trimming her plumb bow, enjoyed the cornering even more.

We found the De Antonio D32 Open a well-planned and implemented day boat. With its pair of staterooms and head, it can easily function as a weekender or extended time away from your home dock. It, as with all the models in the De Antonio line up, possesses sharp, modern exterior, including a plumb bow, and contemporary interior styling.

Functionality is key aboard this boat with a cockpit offering convenient bench seating, dining table, galley, and plenty of storage space. A large storage compartment is also found under the bow sunpad. She has a walk-around deck design, and a comprehensive list of both standard and premium optional features. The De Antonio D32 Open offers exciting performance with a pair of 300- or 250-hp Mercury outboards.

Bow Features & Walkways

The bow layout centers on a 58-inch wide by 68-inch long sun pad, flanked by cup holders on both sides and forward-facing audio speakers.

Anchor locker: Houses an electric windlass and an extended arm roller engineered to project the anchor forward, preventing damage to the vertical plumb bow during deployment and retrieval.

Walkways: 14 inches wide, with a 7-inch step down into the cockpit, keeping passengers secure behind the high 58-inch exterior freeboard.

Storage: A large storage compartment beneath the bow sun pad — an uncommon feature for a cabin-equipped vessel of this size, enabled by the high hull profile.

Walkways, Helm Station & Overhead

Dedicated side storage along the aft walkways holds rectangular fenders. Recessed handrails are integrated along the exterior topsides, preserving the flat-sided exterior aesthetic while providing functional tie-off points and secure handholds.

Headroom under the hardtop: 6 feet, 3 inches. The hardtop features an electrically actuated sunroof with integrated glass accents.

Starboard Head Compartment

A wet head, featuring an electric flush toilet, a vanity sink with a faucet that doubles as a handheld shower, and lower storage. De Antonio uses a space-saving rollaway fabric door system to maximize space and preserve an open interior feel.

Cockpit, Wet Bar & Mechanical Space

Cockpit & Wet Bar

The cockpit features hard-edged, modern styling throughout. Behind the helm seats, a wet bar includes cup holders, storage cabinets, a refrigerator below, and a choice of either a propane or electric stove.

Banquette seating (aft): A reversible backrest allows passengers to sit facing aft around the dining table, or flip forward to face the helm while underway. Wet storage beneath the seating connects internally to the engine compartment.

Mechanical Space Access

The mechanical space hatch opens directly beneath the cockpit table, without requiring removal of the table or its pedestals. Inside, the compartment provides straightforward access to:

• Forward stainless steel fuel tank
• Diesel generator and battery bank (positioned to port)
• Bilge pumps

Along the aft gunwales, dedicated recesses house the fuel, water, and generator diesel fills to starboard, with incoming shore power connections and a hot/cold transom shower to port.

Transom & Concealed Outboard System

Aft seating features a 78-inch wide by 66-inch long sun pad. Assisted by gas struts, the sun pad lifts manually to reveal the concealed engine bay.

Swim Platform Advantages

Because the engines are fully enclosed beneath the aft sun pad, the full-beam swim platform (24 inches deep by 124 inches wide) remains entirely open and clear. A pull-out swim ladder is integrated into the center, allowing swimmers full access to the water while remaining safely separated from the propellers.

Handling & Sea Trial Performance

During evasive maneuvers and aggressive turns, Captain Shelly and Captain Jim noted that the double-stepped hull and plumb bow give the vessel distinct handling characteristics. Lightening the bow by adjusting outboard trim prevents the vertical bow from digging too deep into sharp turns, softening the entry and allowing the hull to track smoothly through corners.
