De Antonio D32 Open (2025-)

Brief Summary

With its home base in Barcelona, Spain, De Antonio Yachts began its boat building in 2012 by deciding to introduce a model line-up, no matter what size, with the same daring exterior lines. The result is a forward, modern look, plumb bow and angular design with a definite nod towards innovative engineering and maximizing space so much so that this 32-footer offers two staterooms. Of course, with performance also being part of the company’s vision, the D32 Open is fully realized with single or twin 300-hp Mercury outboards.

Vessel Inspection

Utilizing the space on a day boat of her size means being able to augment the existing dimensions with the most inventive and creative ways possible to get the most out of her 32.480ft/9.9m length and 10.499ft/3.2m beam. To that end, the design and engineering teams at De Antonio, using all the latest computer design programs along with their own visionary sense, came up with sensible and workable layouts for both deck and the pair of cabins.

De Antonio D32 Open deck layout

Getting from bow to stern, and back again, is made safe and easy with the walkaround deck layout aboard the De Antonio D32 Open.

De Antonio D32 Open stateroom layout

Rarely found on a boat of this size, the De Antonio D32 Open has two staterooms and a head just in case an overnight or weekend stay is necessary.

Bow

The usefulness of the bow area on a day boat cannot be underestimated and on the De Antonio D32 Open, the space is laid out to enjoy while underway, at anchor, or even taking some time in the dock after a day out on the water.

De Antonio D32 Open bow

The first thing we noticed during our walk-through was how deep the wells are, 21” here, this for safety while relaxing or moving to and from the bow area. The large sunpad, measuring 58” x 68”, allows for several people to use it.

The front portion of the sunpad easily opens, assisted by a pair of rams, to reveal a cavernous storage space.

De Antonio D32 Open anchor locker

Fully forward on the bow is the anchor locker housing the electric windlass and rode. There is also an extended arm roller so as not to damage her plumb bow when retrieving the anchor.

De Antonio D32 Open wide walkways

Wide walkways, measuring some 14” all the way around, also offer a safe, sure-footed way while onboard the De Antonio D32 Open.

De Antonio D32 Open step down to helm area

As we move aft, there is a 7" step down leading to the helm area. Those big, rectangular fenders are nicely fit into these holders to either side.

Helm

In designing the helm of the D32 Open, the De Antonio engineering team followed the dramatic, angular lines of her exterior. The result is both impressive and workable.

De Antonio D32 Open helm

The centerline helm, with tilt steering wheel, offers a raised console with enough space for a pair of Simrad touchscreens should that be your preference. All switches and controls are within easy reach.

De Antonio D32 Open bolstered seats

A trio of stylish, bolstered seats adds yet another dramatic flair to the helm. The captain’s seat is adjustable.

Living Accommodations

Just to port of the helm console is the sliding door entrance to the pair of cabins aboard the De Antonio D32 Open. Given her size, this is a particularly welcome addition as her day-boat profile can be extended to weekend or extended time away from home.

De Antonio D32 Open sliding door

With the sliding door wide open, it's three steps down into the living accommodations. Here, the forepeak is set up as a lounge.

De Antonio D32 Open electrical panel

To port is easy access to the electrical panel.

De Antonio D32 Open berth underneath steps

Looking all the way aft, underneath the steps, is another berth. That zippered compartment on the port side opens to a storage space.

De Antonio D32 Open head

Also located here, and accessed through a folding door, is the head with electric toilet. The sink faucet doubles as a shower. Again, a zippered storage space is under the sink.

Cockpit

No matter where one looks aboard the De Antonio D32 Open, her design takes full advantage of all usable space including here, in the cockpit area.

De Antonio D32 Open cockpit

Seen here, the cockpit offers amidships seating fore and aft of a table with the hard top, supported by sturdy rails and well-placed grabs, providing shade for the area. There’s 30” of gunwale height here.

De Antonio D32 Open wide walkways and recessed rails

For added safety while either seated here or moving about, wide walkways and recessed rails are provided.

De Antonio D32 Open galley with sink, single burner stove which can be ordered as an optional electric cooktop, and storage cabinets below including a refrigerator

Just aft of the helm is the galley with sink, single burner stove which can be ordered as an optional electric cooktop, and storage cabinets below including a refrigerator.

De Antonio D32 Open hardtop with electrically operated sunroof

The hardtop offers an electrically operated sunroof. Note the one-piece forward windshield.

De Antonio D32 Open bench seats with large storage space

The bench seats offer large storage space beneath, assisted by a pair of rams for easy opening and closing. The aft bench offers wet storage as it connects with the machinery space.

Flip the front seat and it becomes a forward-facing bench.

Machinery Space

Usually, on a boat of this size, requiring an intricate access deck consisting of a lift mechanism to access the space, De Antonio has a much simpler solution. A single, easy-to-lift, one-sided hatch using the table without having to remove the pedestals.

De Antonio D32 Open machinery space

While by no means a stand-up space, there is ready access to all critical areas such as the generator, batteries, strainers, bilge pumps, water tank, and other items.

Aft

The aft section on the De Antonio D32 Open does double duty as both a large sunpad, measuring 78” x 66”, and access to the twin Mercury outboards. Without the engines traditionally mounted off the transom, there is an added safety factor for those in the water coming aboard or going in. In addition, while underway, it’s a lot quieter.

De Antonio D32 Open aft sunpad

The wide-open space provided by the aft sunpad offers plenty of room to enjoy a day on the water.

De Antonio D32 Open engine space

In the open position, with a pair of robust rams facilitating easy open and close operation, access to the engine space is made safe and effortless. Here, a pair of 300-hp Mercury V8’s powers this boat while twin 250-hp motors are available.

A Word About Performance

Our test boat was equipped with a pair of 300-hp V8 Mercury Verado outboards. With a smooth, easy wind up from idle to 6000 rpm, we hit a WOT speed of 53.2 mph/46.2kn. Our best cruise came in at 41.2mph/35.8kn AT 5000 RPM. Our range at the speed was calculated to be 222.7 nautical miles with a 10% reserve of our 172-gallon fuel capacity.

Test day saw calm conditions with no discernable sea to deal with. She handled all maneuvers, including tight turns and straight runs with a sports car feel and when slightly trimming her plumb bow, enjoyed the cornering even more.

Observations

We found the De Antonio D32 Open a well-planned and implemented day boat. With its pair of staterooms and head, it can easily function as a weekender or extended time away from your home dock. It, as with all the models in the De Antonio line up, possesses sharp, modern exterior, including a plumb bow, and contemporary interior styling.

Functionality is key aboard this boat with a cockpit offering convenient bench seating, dining table, galley, and plenty of storage space. A large storage compartment is also found under the bow sunpad. She has a walk-around deck design, and a comprehensive list of both standard and premium optional features. The De Antonio D32 Open offers exciting performance with a pair of 300- or 250-hp Mercury outboards.

Presenting a forward-looking exterior makes the De Antonio D32 Open a day boat meant to set her owners apart from the others. If you are in the market for a boat in this size and configuration, and one that will most certainly make a personal statement of ownership, set up a visit and sea trial. Your time will be well spent.
