Brief Summary

Formula's latest boat was introduced at the Miami Boat Show. After, Capt. Shelley and Capt. Trip gave her a morning-night shakedown cruise. She's an all-American dayboat with triple Mercury 600-hp outboards to whisk an extended family from Miami to Nassau for lunch. Why not go to an Abacos or Eleuthera resort for dinner and a long weekend? This vessel can do almost anything — take a look and see.

Mission

With a boat designed, engineered and built for hosting family and friends, the Formula 457 CCS will provide exciting day boat action and be a big, comfortable overnighter/weekender with all the storage and amenities to make any extended travel time out on the water an adventurous and exciting experience.

Bow

As we found everywhere aboard, Formula ensured all the available space was utilized to the fullest as evidenced in the bow area.

Formula 457 CCS bow seating — Comfortable seating, along with other features, are found forward.

Formula 457 CCS windlass, anchor, and freshwater washdown — Fully forward is the windlass, anchor, and freshwater washdown. Push button controls are found here as well as at the helm.

Formula 457 CCS sunpad forward and three-person lounge — Seating includes a sunpad forward and a three-person lounge on the midline.

Formula 457 CCS mid-cushion folds down — The mid-cushion folds down revealing cup holders and plug-ins for a phone. Note the stainless grab, many of which are found wherever one is needed.

Formula 457 CCS large cooler — At the foot of the lounge is this large cooler.

Formula 457 CCS electrically controlled table — The electrically controlled table rises and lowers at the touch of a button.

Getting around the 457 CCS feels safe and secure thanks to wide walkways and high bulwarks. To assist in getting fore and aft, there are stainless grabs placed where they should be.

Helm

The centerpiece of the Formula 457 CCS is the helm. A large, comfortable space, the helm has plenty of room for an impressible well-laid-out console and lots of amenities to make time for special times aboard.

Formula 457 CCS seating for 6 — Three seats forward with three more seats aft, allow for everyone to experience the drive.

Formula 457 CCS 6 electrically operated wing doors — Electrically operated wing doors to both sides can be closed when cutting down on wind is necessary.

Formula 457 CCS supports for hardtop — A robust build for the hardtop is evidenced by these substantial supports. Note the grabs on both sides.

Cockpit and Stern

As we’ve discovered, this big center console’s design is meant to provide the kind of space necessary to complete the mission in comfort and safety. With the cockpit and stern areas, Formula has delivered just the right balance of necessities.

Formula 457 CCS cockpit storage — Aft of the console, and into the cockpit, is found plenty of space for handy storage.

Formula 457 CCS electric grill — An electric grill is located on the port side of the transom.

Formula 457 CCS cockpit overhead view — This overhead shows the cockpit are with seating. Those fittings in the deck are for a pair of tables. Note the large storage hatches in the deck and the stainless boarding ladder in the post side door as well.

Formula 457 CCS aft doors — Aft doors to either side, as well as port and starboard boarding doors, make getting on and off, whether at the dock or on the hook, safe and easy.

Formula 457 CCS sun shade — When the sun gets a bit too much, this electrically operated sun shade is easily deployed.

Cabin

Equipped with a cabin boasting 6'6" (1.9 m) of headroom plus a head and a galley, the 457 CCS is a comfortable getaway for when a long weekend awaits.

Formula 457 CCS galley — The galley, while compact, is perfect for easy-to-prepare meals. The door forward leads to the head.
