Captain Tripp and Alan Blanco take the newly premiered Regal 50 SAV out for a kite fishing excursion in the Gulf Stream off the coast of Boca Raton. The crew successfully targets sailfish while demonstrating how the vessel serves as both a highly capable offshore fishing machine and a luxurious platform for entertaining at the sandbar.
Performance and Fishing Capabilities
- The hull features an aggressive deadrise that transitions from 38 degrees forward to 18 degrees aft.
- The transom is equipped with twin 30-gallon pressurized livewells that kept dozens of baitfish healthy throughout the trip.
- Padded coaming bolsters are installed around the entire perimeter to provide extra comfort when anglers are fighting fish.
- The helm includes integrated "GarmRests," which are Garmin navigation screens built directly into the helm seat armrests.
- Trolling stability is maintained by a Seakeeper 6 gyro stabilization system.
- The vessel is powered by triple Mercury 600 outboards, with massive amp capacity supplied by Mastervolt lithium batteries and a Fisher Panda diesel generator.
Leisure and Entertainment Amenities
- The boat's standard 14-foot 8-inch beam expands to almost 20 feet when the port and starboard drop-down terraces are deployed.
- The cockpit is fitted with a summer kitchen featuring a grill, a griddle, and a sink for preparing meals directly on deck.
- A 55-inch, ultra-bright outdoor TV folds down from the hardtop, allowing passengers in the back to check the depth sounder or simply watch a screen.
- Versatile deck seating includes flip-down tables and chairs that can spin 180 degrees to face the aft action.
- Sandbar convenience is maximized with outward-facing JL Audio transom speakers, a power swim platform, and a dedicated stern anchor locker.
- Below deck, passengers can escape the elements in an air-conditioned cabin that includes a full-sized head and a king bed.
