Riviera 5600 Layput — (TOP) Easy access is afforded aft, via the swim platform and leads to the main deck walkarounds to either side. (BOTTOM) With its three stateroom, two head layout, lots of onboard storage space, and a tender garage, the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht is a go anywhere, long distance traveled.

Bow

Entertaining, lounging, taking in the sights whether underway or on the hook, the bow space presents the first of several areas aboard lending themselves to enjoyment.

Riviera 5600 Bow — Seating, storage, and informal dining await those choosing to use the bow as a gathering place. Note the height of the stainless rail surrounding the bow as well as the easy-access walkways to either side.

c shaped couch space — The c-shape lounge and couch space offers comfortable seating as well as storage below. The table provides informal dining opportunities.

loungers — The forward lounges have adjustable backrests for a several positions.

Helm

Providing both driver and guests with an exciting space from which to navigate, the helm will sure to be yet another favorite place to gather.

A pair of comfortable, bolstered chairs are offered to the driver and co-pilot as well as excellent sightlines into the seaway.

touchscreen display — A C-Zone touchscreen allows for oversight and control over important systems.

smart phone app — A remote function on your smart phone allows for precise monitoring as well.

A lounge space provides a comfortable space to relax as well as wide vistas to view the seaway.

Salon

Sure to be the focal point of gathering, the salon on the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht has been designed to do just that with seating surrounded by wide windows and luxurious décor.

Presenting wide open spaces, the salon offers seating areas conducive to gathering and entertaining.

A pair of stools transforms this space into an informal snack or breakfast area as it is part of the galley.

open salon — As everywhere aboard, the galley area offers wide open spaces for all types of meal and dining opportunities.

beautiful wood cabinets — Beautifully finished wood, with matching grains, highlight the fit and finish found in the salon as well as throughout the yacht. Here, a full size refrigerator/freezer, wind rack, and storage put an elegant touch to this area.

coiuntertops — Wide countertops offer the chef of the day plenty of space for food preparation.

As an added design plus, the entire aft end opens up to join the aft deck.

The galley features an induction stove top for safe cooking.

The large, drawer-style dishwasher is conveniently located near the sink for ease of loading or unloading.

The stainless sink is surrounded by large counterspace.

As an added convenience, Riviera supplies fine dishware service to make your dining a bit more elegant and special.

Aft

Another gathering space aboard the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht that is sure to be hit with owners and guests is the aft end. Easily accessed via the large swim platform, and a pair of stairs, good times aboard await.

aft platform — Safe passage via the swim platform is provided by wide stairs and stainless rails. Here the standard hydraulic platform is shown along with the garage and optional tender. Should the tender not be needed, the space can be used for additional storage.

The garage provides rollers or rails for proper launch and retrieval of either traditional RIB tender w/outboard or a Williams Jet. An electric pulley system is used to get the tender back on board.

Lift the port stairs and the compartment reveals Glendenning cable master, 30 and 30 amp shore power connection with breakers, salt and freshwater washdowns, and an air valve for inflating water toys.

starboard stairs — Additional boarding is provided to starboard.

In addition, there is yet another boarding door on the port side

rear deck seating — The rear deck offers seating and dining.

open galley — With its open access to the space, food prep and service from the galley is readily available.

dining area — Open air, al fresco dining on the aft deck while on the hook or in the dock is a special occasion on board the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht.

optional closed off aft end — Should the weather, or wind, present problems, the aft end can be closed off.

extended hard top — The extended hardtop provides shade for the aft deck.

hardtop extensions — With this hardtop extension, the aft deck is provided with additional shade.

Also found here on the aft deck, is this galley console.

cooking area — Outdoor cooking is provided with a pair of Kenyon grills. Exhaust fans are located in the top of the console.

Along with storage cabinets, this drawer-style refrigerator is provided.

Machinery Space

Given its size and configuration, the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht has a fully stand-up machinery space.

bilge pummp — The bilge pumps are easily reached for inspection and servicing.

The tops of the IPS units are readily available for servicing.

The bank of Li ion deep cycle batteries, for inverter use, are out in the open and easily inspected. A proprietary management system keeps a close watch on their use and levels.

MasterVolt inverter charger, house, engine bank, and auxiliary charging systems are all readily accessible.

The DC distribution panel is clearly marked with all breakers readily available.

site gauges — The sight gauges for fuel are easily viewed as is the access to the Racor filters provided in the wide-open spaces.

graco sea strainer — Inspection and access to the Graco sea strainer units is provided for ease of maintenance.

The 120/240 AC panel is set behind this safety door and can be easily accessed when necessary.

A total of six air handlers combine to produce 62,000 BTU’s of comfort when needed. Above the air handlers is the DeltaT system, this to keep salt spray out of the engine and machinery space.

The Cummins Onan 21.5kW diesel generator provides more than enough power for a boat this size.

Living Accommodations

An under 60-foot yacht with a trio of staterooms and a pair of heads, makes the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht a complete blue water traveler.

stairs — A stairway, accessed just to port of the helm console, leads to the staterooms. Note the rail for safe passage to and from the accommodations deck.

bottom of stairs — Here, at the bottom of the stairs, is a large storage console.

owners suite — The amidships owner's suite, and as with all the accommodations aboard, features superb woodwork and attention to detail.

storage space — Abundant storage aboard the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht is standard.

large window — Large windows allow ambient light to flood the space. Note the additional storage cabinets above the window.

This single, cedar-lined hanging closet is one of two in the owner's quarters.

double closet — A double-closet is also provided.

A separate lounge is located to starboard.

owners bathroom — The ensuite owner's head offers plenty of drawer storage, wide open spaces, and again, that can't-get-enough-of woodwork with its fine fit and finish.

The forepeak VIP also offers plenty of ambient light as well as storage space.

guest bathroom — The head is shared by these quarters and the guest stateroom to port.

guest staterooms — The guest stateroom offers good storage and double berths.

washroom — No long distance yacht would be complete without a wash room.

A Word About Performance

Designed and engineered to be run by a seasoned couple, our test Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht has a dry weight of 56,571 pounds. For our performance test, we had three people on board and 37% of a total of 872-gallon fuel capacity along with minimum gear. Our test weight was approximately 59,806 pounds. Test day saw relatively calm conditions with 5-10 knots of wind, air temperature of 64°, and relative humidity of 69%. She was powered by a pair of 725-hp Volvo Penta IPS 950’s.

Bringing the engines up to 2560 rpm, we noted a top speed of 31.5 knots/36.2 mph. We found our best cruise at 1750 rpm to be 17.3 knots with a 437.0 nautical mile range with a 10% fuel reserve.

When we took her offshore, for a bit more seaway to deal with, we found she handled well, responded to trimming out, and noted a sound level at a quiet 71/73bda. We found her to be responsive to the helm during several maneuvers and especially with her optional aft station and Assisted Docking Software during docking maneuvers, single handed operations are straightforward and user-friendly.

With the upgraded software, the Volvo Penta joystick allows for one foot increments while tapping the controller during close quarters situations. Letting go of the joystick holds the yacht in place no matter wind or current.

For single handed docking, and using the optional aft station, merely tap the joystick to one side of the dock until you can secure your lines.

Summary

The Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht occupies that special size place enabling a seasoned couple to own and operate a large, mid-sized yacht designed and engineered to spend quality travel time in comfort, style, and safety. With Rivera’s blue water DNA built in, this is the kind of boat intended to take its owners and their guests on extended voyages. To that end, she provides a trio of staterooms, luxurious décor, and plenty of storage space.

Powered by a pair of 750-hop Volvo Penta IPS 950 inboards, with 872 gallons of fuel, she has plenty of power and range to satisfy the needs of blue water travel. And with a deep list of standard and optional equipment, the Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht will be a personal statement of ownership. Or, as they say Down Under, “She’s a real ripper!”
