The Future of Yacht Style?

Wally Power 50

Wally Power 50

With a dart-like futuristic appearance and the option of up to 2000hp, the Wally Power 50 can be either a sedate diesel cruiser or a remarkably fast quad outboard rocket.

The Wally Power 50 combines a sleek, futuristic design with the choice of engines totaling up to 2000 hp. Launched at this year’s Düsseldorf boat show, she is designed to bridge the gap between the Wally Power 58 and the Wally Tender 48, per the company. The boat can be viewed as a scaled-down version of the 58 or a high-sided tender: In either case she makes a bold visual statement.

Her lines are uncluttered from every angle. She has a beam spanning 14’1” (4.3m).

Part of Ferretti

Wally, a part of the Ferretti Group which has 30 years of boat-building experience, emphasizes functionality fused with style evident in many details of this offshore powerboat.

Featuring a deep-vee hull designed for robust performance, it offers ample living space integrated into a striking minimalist exterior, along with potent engine choices.

Power It As You Like

Power options include twin 480-hp IPS 650’s, which the company says provides a relatively fuel-efficient ride for those happy with 36 knots. However, Mercury’s new range of big-block outboards – in this case, 400hp or 500hp V10 Verados – has changed the ball game. If you are tempted by this particular boat, you may have a hard time ignoring quadruple 400hp V10s or even the reported 55-knot quadruple 500hp option.

Wally Power 50 engine options

She’s available with twin 480 hp IPS drives or quad outboards adding up to 2,000 hp!

The company currently says the 385 gal (1400L) fuel capacity is the same for all power options, though this may change. This means that with an IPS-powered version you could expect a range of around 300 miles at 30 knots with a reserve. However, the maxed out Verado version will surely fall well short of this figure, likely offering a range of between 160 and 200 miles, with a reasonable reserve.

On the plus side, it will provide a silky-smooth 40-knot cruising speed, with plenty of power to spare, and should seem whisper quiet compared to twin diesels at most planing speeds.

Expanded Deck Space

Wally Power 50 fold out balconies

Fold out balconies expand deck space significantly while at anchor.

Abundant Sunning and Lounging Spaces

She expands the open space found in smaller tenders, making her suitable for superyacht duties where lots of guests must be shuttled rapidly to and from. Forward of the aft sunbeds under the protection of the angular cockpit is the cockpit saloon.

A dining table with bench seating comfortably accommodates eight, with a galley sitting on the starboard side of the helm. Unusually, the helm is on the port side, offering two futuristic high-back seats facing two large MFDs, along with VHF and system displays.

Going forward, the side decks rise up to the recessed foredeck, complete with sun pad with adjustable headrests.

Wally Power 50 anchor and windlass are hidden in a compartment at the bow

The anchor and windlass are hidden away in a compartment at the bow, invisible until needed.

Common to most of the wallypower range, this model features the hidden anchoring system. Conventionally mounted in the forepeak, this clever set-up ‘unconventionally’ deploys the anchor out through a flush hatch in the stem, before letting it drop vertically.

She features dual aft sunbeds with a spacious walkway between them, complemented by drop-down aft bulwarks that enhance the socializing area by 19.7 square feet (6 square m).

The dartlike profile promises performance at full throttle as well as an ability to soften head seas.

Moving forward, beneath the angular cockpit protection lays a comfortable salon with dining for eight, a galley, and a helm equipped with high-back seats facing large multifunction displays.

A Touch of England

The helm's placement on the port side is unconventionally English, unusual since the boats are built in Italy, but adds to the boat's distinctive character.

Accommodations Below

Below, she offers generous accommodation for a couple, enhanced by the 14’1” (4.3 m) beam. There is full standing headroom throughout this deck level, with a triple deck hatch overhead, and long hull windows.

There’s far more space below than is apparent from her sleek exterior. This level includes a second galley as well as a sofa and queen bed.

A second, smaller galley can be found on the starboard side of the companionway stairs, while the head compartment is situated opposite – complete with shower, sink and toilet.

A small settee is located at the foot of a large double bed, along with glass-fronted hanging lockers on either side. Smaller items can be secured in the range of overhead lockers that run over the window line, with more storage beneath the bed.

Wally Power 50 aft lounging space

There’s abundant lounging space aft, both for sunlovers and under the shade of the hard top.

In essence, whether used as a tender or a luxury day cruiser, the Wally Power 50's design and robust performance capabilities make it a standout choice for those seeking both style and substance in a vessel.
