Brief Summary

Everything needed is standard. The AR195 is one of Yamaha’s best value models in their product lineup. Mission
Yamaha designed, engineered, and built the AR195 as a bowrider for families and friends to enjoy time on the water. The Yamaha AR195 is equipped with a folding sport tower with tow pylon and a separate tow hook for watersports, such as wakeboarding, waterskiing, and tubing, as well as ready to simply cruise to a favorite dockside restaurant or sandbar island.
Major Features
Sport Tower and Bimini Top. A forward-swept aluminum tower comes with a Bimini top that folds for low bridges and storage.
Integrated Transom Swim Platform. The integrated transom swim platform design is a hallmark of Yamaha’s runabouts with drink-holders, soft rubberized non-skid, and wrap around backrests. The platform allows access to the pump cleanout ports.
Easy Transitions. The 21” (.53 m) windshield walkthrough leads from the bow to the open cockpit and a cutout in the aft bench seating provides simple access to the swim platform.
Innovative Cockpit Seating. Yamaha has designed the L-shaped cockpit seating to maximize flow as well as for social gatherings.
4.3” Multifunction Display. Connext®, Yamaha’s all-in-one touchscreen helm control system integrates the boat’s entertainment features, operation functions, and essential system information.
No Wake Mode. 3-position switch sets engine speed and maximizes jet thrust for No Wake zones.
Cruise Control. Yamaha’s Cruise Assist allows the operator to set the speed for cruising.
Warranty. Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty for Original Purchaser, 10 Year Limited Transferable Structural Warranty, 3 Year Limited Component Warranty. See your local Yamaha Marine dealer for details.
Standard Trailer. The Yamaha AR195 has a standard painted trailer with swing-away tongue, disk brakes, lights, safety chains, adjustable winch stand with strap and hook.
Performance
The Yamaha AR195 has a length overall of 19’5” (5.92 m) and a beam of 8’2” (2.49 m). With an empty weight of 2,500 lbs. (1,134 kg), with 75% fuel and two people onboard, there was an estimated weight of 3,100 lbs. (1,406 kg).
Top Speed. With a single Yamaha 1.8-liter Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) engine turning the internal impeller jet drive, the test boat reached a top speed of 48.4 mph (77.8 kph) at 7540 rpm.
Best Cruise. The best cruise came in at 6000 rpm running at 31.4 mph (50.5 kph). At that speed, the 10.6 gph (39.9 lph) translates to 3.0 miles per gallon (1.27 kpl) and a range of 107 statute miles (172 kilometers) while still holding back a 10% reserve of the boat’s 40-gallon (151 L) total fuel capacity.

Handling
Low-Speed Maneuvering. Yamaha has improved the jet-drive with a V-bucket gate designed to improve low-speed control, even in reverse. The bucket provides thrust laterally, in lieu of downwards. This creates the benefit of side-thrusters when maneuvering at low-speeds.
Unlike other jetboats we have tested, the Yamaha AR195 does not easily spin-out. A testament to Yamaha’s newly designed keel. When cornering, the operator can add thrust for a more responsive turn. To create a slide spin, the operator would need to really work on holding the turn and regulating the speed.
Features Inspection
Bow
The Foredeck. Many runabouts have the anchor locker under the foredeck. On the AR195, Yamaha moved it to under the aft-facing, forward most, center seat.
Forward Seating
The Yamaha has made the forward seating versatile on the AR195 with everything well placed, including the storage under the lounge seats, speakers, grab handles, drink holders as well as upholstered inserts that fill in the foot well to form a sun pad.
Green Arrow – Navigation Lights. The bi-color navigation light is mounted on the foredeck.
Yellow Arrows – Pop-Up Cleats. Yamaha has placed the pop-up bow cleats on the forward-most, outboard side of the hull side. This is very unusual, and will take some getting used to, and is one of the few complaints we have about the boat.
Red Arrow – Horn. The compact electric horn is located just aft of the starboard side pop-up cleat.
Purple Arrows – Integrated Drink Holders. There are drink holders on the outboard side of the loungers.
Blue Arrows – Grab Handles. The forward seating grab handles are made from billet aluminum and are located just forward of the coaming pads on each side.
Walkthrough Windshield. When open, the Yamaha AR195 walkthrough windshield has a 21” (53.3 cm) egress to facilitate forward and aft movement. The center opening is secured by double latches when closed.
Port Console
The port console has storage that extends under the forward port lounge seat storage area. A good place to store the cockpit table and pedestal.
Helm Console
Helm
The helm has the Yamaha Connext multifunction touchscreen display centered in the middle of the dash, directly in front of the operator and the tilt steering wheel. All of the components are ergonomically arranged and easily accessible.
No Wake Mode. 3-position switch sets engine speed and maximizes jet thrust for No Wake zones.
Cruise Control. Yamaha’s Cruise Assist allows the operator to set the speed for cruising.
Cockpit
The aft cockpit of the Yamaha AR195 was redesigned to make a more open flow. There is open storage under the forward portion of the port side bench seat and a backrest for an aft facing watersports spotter.
Engine Compartment
Transom
The two-tier transom swim platform is a hallmark of Yamaha jet boats and the Yamaha AR195 is no exception. This is where all watersports are launched, and Yamaha has made it comfortable to do so.
Trailer
The Yamaha AR195 is available with a standard single axle painted trailer with a swing-away tongue, disk brakes, lights, adjustable winch stand with strap and safety hook. The storage height on the trailer is 10’ 2” (3.10 m) with the sport tower up and 6’11” (2.12 m) with the tower stowed.
Warranty
The Yamaha AR195 comes with a Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty for Original Purchaser, 10 Year Limited Transferable Structural Warranty and 3 Year Limited Component Warranty. See your local Yamaha Marine dealer for details.
Options to Consider
The Yamaha AR195 is a package and the only options include a choice of black or grey hull sides, a single axle aluminum trailer and wakeboard racks.
Price
The Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Yamaha AR195 is $37,599.
Observations
This model has been revised to make the bow seating larger. It creates more room in the cockpit for moving around, and the stern seating has been improved.
While she is an entry-level boat, the addition of the most powerful engine Yamaha makes, the 1.8-liter SVHO, and the articulating keel, make the AR195 hold a straight line when running and easier to dock than otherwise. Because everything is standard, the actual cost of ownership is well defined.
Overall, we like the boat, and think that it is a good value, except for the odd cleat placement on the port and starboard side of the hull forward. We hope Yamaha will change it, and then these cleats can be used for the anchor rode, as well.
