Overview

Captain Tripp's introduction: "This is their smallest and lightest sit-down PWC that they have put out since the nineties, and it's supposed to check all the boxes of fun."

Model Positioning

The Jet Blaster series is described as Yamaha's most affordable two- and three-person watercraft, built for exhilarating riding. The model has received an Innovation award, credited to its three-piece deck design and performance. Yamaha manufactures nearly all key components in-house — noted as ensuring parts work together seamlessly, with precise tolerances that boost performance, reliability, and durability.

Sea Trial

Captain Tripp ran the craft at speeds including 40+ and 45 mph during testing, performing wheelies. His closing assessment of the ride: "The Jet Blaster certainly lived up to its name, 'cause that was an absolute blast."

Deck Construction

The deck is polypropylene, built in three pieces. Captain Tripp explained the practical benefit: "If you do need to work on the engine, you can take the centerpiece off and still leave the handlebars, and essentially the whole ski fully functional, while you're working on it."

Hull Construction

The hull is fiberglass, which Captain Tripp said provides "strength, precision handling, and durability and fixability" — meaning that in the event of a hull hole, it can be repaired like a typical fiberglass boat.

Manufacturing process: Yamaha uses a stamping process rather than a hand layup for the fiberglass hull. Captain Tripp explained the benefit: "That makes every hull exactly the same every time." The interior hull surface is smooth, with no exposed fiberglass, which he noted also gives Yamaha's engineers more design freedom.

Engine

The TR-1 engine is cited as making this the most powerful Jet Blaster in its class — the engine Captain Tripp credited for allowing the wheelies performed during testing. Routine maintenance and flushing is accessible under the seat.

Footwell / Wheelie Performance

Raised foot chocks at the back of the footwell are specific to this model. Captain Tripp described using them during wheelies: "I would get back in this position, get my weight off, and when you gave it gas, it would stand right up, and you could balance and control the ski pretty well." He noted he was surprised by the level of control and maneuverability while performing wheelies.

Handlebars

The Jet Blaster Pro has raised handlebars, which Captain Tripp compared to a dirt bike, noting improved handling and ergonomics.

Controls: Right-side throttle for forward, left-side throttle for reverse — noted as making low-speed/tight-quarters control easier. Also present: start/stop button, a speed adjustment control on the right side (used with no-wake mode or cruise control mode to set a target speed), and a trim adjustment on the left side (trimming up helps the craft stand up quickly for wheelies).

Model distinction: The raised handlebars and foot chocks are exclusive to the Jet Blaster Pro, distinguishing it as the freestyle-oriented model in the lineup.

Connect Display

A 4.3-inch color screen, described as visible in sunlight. Displays trim angle, fuel level, speed, and RPM, with additional cycling screens for trip/fuel info, settings, and an engine lock feature (code-based, similar to a phone lock).

Optional Bluetooth Speakers

Waterproof and floating; removable for use at the sandbar. Multiple riders with Jet Blasters and matching speakers can pair them together for a shared audio setup.

Storage

Small glove box just behind the handlebars; additional storage underneath the seat; optional saddlebag-style storage also available.

Transom / Boarding

A padded reboarding platform and boarding step are located at the transom.
