DF 70

Brief Summary

Suzuki’s DF 60 and DF 70 are the first outboard engines in the industry to come equipped with a Multi-Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection System. This is good news for the environment (each engine is EPA year 2006 certified) and great news for you if you want a powerful and compact 4-stroke.

According to Suzuki factory tests, the DF 70 consumes 75-percent less fuel at idle than their DT65C 2-stroke, and at operating conditions, 20-percent less. Suzuki based these outboard engines on their successful 1298cc 4-cylinder automotive engine and even incorporated a similar SOHC cylinder head.

Of course the marine version is built to withstand corrosion, and in addition to the corrosive-resistant paint, many internal parts have been either treated with alumite or made out of aluminum die-cast to help resist nature’s forces. A three-stage baffle chamber is incorporated into the exhaust system to help reduce noise at idle.
