Siren 3 Pro is the Leading Telemetrics Service on the Market

BoatTEST’s boat club division – Sovereign Boat Fleet – has all of its boats equipped with Siren Pro equipment and has since its founding in 2020. The Siren system alerts the captains I charge of the boats and boat owners of the status of the vessels 24/7.

Siren Marine was founded in 2011 in Newport, Rhode Island, by licensed captain, sailor and electronics entrepreneur Daniel Harper. He was the visionary who created the first, and still the industry’s leading recreational boating telemetrics system. Its systems deliver safety, security and remote monitoring for owners.

The Yamaha Connection

Several years ago, Yamaha Motors acquired Siren Marine as part of a new strategic alliance. According to Ben Speciale, President of Yamaha’s U.S. Marine Business Unit, the relationship with Siren Marine is intended to help Yamaha lead the race in marine connected and digital technology. Siren’s devices, software and two-way communication will be linked with Yamaha’s current and future integrated control systems developed by the BPS team.

The practical result for boaters will be deeper integration between Siren’s monitoring platform and Yamaha’s outboards. Today, Siren systems use cellular connectivity to send data on boat location, bilge activity, battery state and similar metrics.

Because the unit can be interfaced with the Yamaha control module, fuel levels, oil levels and anomalies in system can be transmitted to the user’s smart phone or tablet.  Yamaha and Siren say this capability should improve engine reliability and extend service life, while the stream of anonymized data will give Yamaha valuable insight for future product development and customer support.

In effect, Yamaha outboards are becoming nodes in a wider connected network, monitored by the company as closely as a Siren system allows an owner to monitor the boat itself. There is no system on the market quite like it.

The Siren system can be used on all makes of outboards, and the Sovereign Boat Fleet has several of its Siren systems monitoring boats powered by Mercury engines.
