Simrad’s NSX series of chartplotters and fishfinders combine a modern interface with clear visuals to deliver a new experience for anglers and cruisers. IPS touchscreens capture virtually every detail and navigation capability with C-MAP Discover X charts. NSX 3007, 3009 and 3012 multifunction displays are equipped with integrated sonar, radar and autopilot systems plus Simrad’s Setup Wizard that makes it easy to get up and running.
Simrad says NSX pairs a clean, straightforward interface with high-definition visuals. Features include drag-and-drop screen customization, editable instrument bar and enhanced day and night modes. The SolarMAX IPS touchscreen provides clear views of chart detail, structure and bottom contours that are viewable from any angle, in direct sunlight and through polarized lenses.
C-MAP DISCOVER and REVEAL X marine-optimized charts feature an intuitive chart presentation and updates. The next-generation charts have an intuitive presentation that integrates with the Simrad Companion app. Use the app to plan trips, review tracks and plot waypoints on a smartphone and sync to NSX units.
Displays include full-featured Vector Charts with Custom Depth Shading and High-Resolution Bathymetry showing accurate contour lines down to a 1’ (.3 m) level of detail. Simrad’s fastest-ever autorouting helps with route planning and plotting with tide and current projections. A new Map Inspection feature provides one-touch access to information on locations, points of interest, tides, channels and more.
Enhanced day and night modes make it easier to see the NSX screens any time of day from any angle. Identify hazards with HALO pulse compression radars, stay on course with Autopilot and keep abreast of potential trouble with integrated sonar.
Active ImagingTM 3-in-1 gives high-resolution images 300’ (91.44 m) below and 300’ (91.44 m) to the sides of the host vessel and CHIRP, DownScan ImagingTM and SideScan are provided from a single transducer. It provides some of the clearest images and high-resolution views than any other structure imaging technology.
FishRevealTM Smart Target View provides easier target identification with clearly defined fish arches. Choose from a range of 1kW transducers to search even greater depths. FishReveal blends the data from CHIRP and DownScan imagery, eliminating the need for split-screen viewing and interpretation.
Use custom modes like bird, offshore, weather and harbor to highlight specific targets and of course, navigate to waypoints and run patterns and routes with ease.
Simrad’s Setup Wizard makes it easy to get started and the company provides hassle-free software updates. Use the app for on- and off-water trip planning and the streamlined display looks the same across all platforms. There’s also easy transfer of data including routes and waypoints.
Personalize the screen without having to go back to the home page using the activity bar. All chart settings are accessible directly from the screen and a user can expand to a full-screen view from any splitscreen activity. Selecting an object on a chart like a marina gives access to more information the facility including a detailed description with hours of operation, amenities and more. A chart orientation button lets a captain change among north up, heading up and course up screens. The waypoints and route app permits the management of all waypoints and routes. Sort them by location and filter in different ways that work best for your application.
Finally, Shaded Relief and Satellite Overlay layers bring the outside world to life with 3D rendered land and underwater elevation including areas of Ultra-High-Res Bathymetric imagery, which provides clarity of images for anglers and divers.
