Oconto, Wis. (Oct. 30, 2008) – Cruisers Yachts, Wisconsin’s premier
manufacturer of luxury yachts, once again raises the bar in Sports Coupe styling by
designing the industry’s first 46-foot luxury coupe with walk-through windshield and IPS only propulsion.
Set to officially debut in 2009,

“The striking exterior profile of the new 460 SC will make her look just as grand
on the water as her luxury sister vessel, the 520 SC”, says Jon Viestenz, product
manager for Cruisers Yachts. “Our engineering team truly held nothing back when
it came to designing the 460 SC. In fact, amenities like the walk-through windshield,
cockpit A/C and heat and a 15.5 KW generator are standard features on this new model,”
says Viestenz.
The 460 SC is powered by the revolutionary IPS propulsion system.
Manufactured by Volvo Penta, the IPS dramatically increases power and fuel efficiency when
compared to other conventional inboard models. Best of all, the IPS joystick makes
maneuvering, handling and docking the yacht as easy as steering a car.
Above Deck
From bow to stern, the 460 SC is equipped with many of the same
features that people have come to love on the 520 Sport Coupe. Additional options
and upgrades allow for customizing the vessel to meet individual needs and desires.
Starting at the bow, for added safety, stainless steel grab rails on both sides
of the optional foredeck chase lounge cushions are standard and assist when moving
to and from it. The standard walk-through windshield is a signature design on all
of Cruisers Yachts Sports Coupes, and the 460 SC is no exception. This allows for
safe and easy access to and from the foredeck. Other topside amenities include a
standard single helm seat with an optional double helm seat offering flip up bolsters
and folding armrests.
To the port side of the helm, at the same level, is a companion
seat with a lounging arrangement and storage below. Also standard is a windshield
defroster that allows for continual 360 degree visibility, even during climate changes.
Moving back toward the cockpit is a multi-functional dining area with two tables
that drop down to create a lounging area. Both of these tables are self storing.
An additional cockpit wet bar with solid surface, refrigerator, sink and faucet,
along with plenty of storage are standard. For added entertainment value, an optional
26-inch LCD/DVD cockpit TV, on an actuating arm, and ice maker are available. An
iPod/MP3 interface cockpit stereo system also comes standard on the 460 SC. The
13-inch wide side boarding landings makes boarding from the side a breeze. Accessing
the engine room is also a snap through a wide door in the cockpit floor.
At the stern of the boat a fiberglass cooler/ice chest with a
built in drain is ideal for those hot summer days on the water when drinks need
to stay cold. In place of the fiberglass cooler / ice chest is an optional concealed
transom grill for those that want to take cooking-out to a whole new level. The
transom seating has the ability to convert to an aft facing sun-lounge which is
great for those boaters looking to catch some rays. A full-beam swim platform comes
standard, with an optional hi-low swim platform available.
When it comes to storage, Cruisers Yachts has given great thought to providing its
customers the extra space they need,
right where they need it, allowing for all
gear to be put in its proper place. With room beneath all cockpit seating on the
460 SC and additional storage under the transom lounge seating, Cruisers Yachts
is proving once again it has thought of it all.
Below Deck
Step below on the 460 SC and immediately notice the abundance of natural light and
ventilation. One of the unique features on the vessel is its 12 vertical portholes
with additional circular port holes. Solid-surface counter tops and a standard dinette
with optional sofa sleeper or recliner add to the luxurious feeling found in the
salon of the 460 SC. Other amenities that can be found in the galley include: a
microwave/convection oven, electric stove, large refrigerator/freezer, double sink
and plenty of storage for supplies. A lighted liquor cabinet is standard and for
additional convenience a dishwasher, wine captain and trash compactor are also available.
Elegant amenities are what give Cruisers Yachts its style and legendary comfort.
The forward stateroom boosts a full-size island berth with storage below, and is
accessible from both the port and starboard side. Several large, cedar-lined, hanging
lockers and an optional 19-inch flat screen TV/DVD are perfect for those longer
cruisers. Guests will also appreciate the private entrances to the split shower
and day head. Cruisers Yachts has also made the day head accessible from the salon.
The master stateroom features a private head with a separate shower stall
and generous amounts of headroom.
There is a large vanity located outside the head
compartment, with solid-surface counter tops and storage above and below. In addition,
a large queen-size walk-around island berth with a therapeutic foam mattress and
abundant storage for those longer cruises can all be found. An optional washer/dryer
combo unit and a 26-inch LCD flat screen TV/DVD are all within reach in the comfortable
master stateroom that gives six-feet, six-inches of headroom throughout. Full-length,
cedar-lined, hanging lockers can also be found in the master stateroom, while six
vertical port holes allow for ample natural light during the day.
