35 Versions of Striper 2101 WA/DC Outboard or Stern Drive

Seaswirl, a Genmar company which makes the Striper line
of boats from 18’ to 33’, is a company that believes in giving its customers choices.
In the case of the 2101 WA/DC Striper there are three different basic configurations,
each with 11 or 12 engine options in outboard or stern drive, gas or diesel, from
150-hp to 290-hp – which adds up to at least 35 different choices. We took a stroll
through the Striper plant to see how these 23 different versions go together and
to find out more about the boats.

Stripers
All three boats are actually the same basic
dimensions (21’6” x 8’6”), -- photos are not to scale. Take your pick:
MSRP for the two OB versions with 150-hp Evinrude E-TEC -- $40,014. The Stern Drive
version is $38,349 MSRP with a 190-hp 4.3L GL Volvo Penta with Duoprop.

Striper Liner
If you have never seen a boat under construction
before the sight at first can be disconcerting. But once you start looking at the
details you will begin to understand where fiberglass boats get their strength.
Here we see the accommodations liner placed inside the bow. Note the foam flotation
material outside of the longitudinal stringers which give the boat fore and aft
strength and rigidity.

Striper Stern Drive
Looking aft we see the
stern drive engine in place. In nearly all boats the engines go in early and before
the decks go in. The fuel tank will go on the centerline forward of the engine.
Note foam flotation port and starboard.

Striper Stern Drive Finsihed
Here’s how the engine
looks in the boat when it is finished.

Striper deck
Here you see the one-piece
deck for the walk around version. The instruments, steering, windshield, T-Top and
other equipment were installed before this part was put onto the hull.

It can be easily removed.

Striper Optional Hardtop
Many boats are made to
order these days which means customers can add many factory options to individualize
the boat. Note hand holds on the top of the T-Top and good visibility forward.

Striper Nearly Complete
She’s beginning to look
pretty good as this 2101 WA nears completion.

Note ample freeboard.

Striper self-contained PP standard
This boat comes with the
standard self-contained Porta Potti, but an option is available for a conventional
toilet bowl. Seaswirl lets you upgrade to suit your application.

With three different
body styles and a dozen engine options you can pretty much have a Striper 2101 built
for your specific application. Don’t hesitate to sit down with a Striper dealer
and tell him exactly what you want. Chances are he can accommodate you either from
stock or custom order. To check out your engine options and all of the standard
