Here's a tournament in which everyone wins

On April 29th is the 11th Annual Kyle Page Open Team Bass Tournament, sponsored by Gist Backhoe Service in Chapin, S.C., will be held out of the Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray. In the last 10 years, the tournament has provided $10,000 each to 35 families that have children with a variety of physical and medical problems in the Milands of South Carolina.

The tournament began as a benefit for Kyle Page, who was born with spina bifida, a birth defect of the spinal area. It continued because Kyle’s father, Joel Page of Little Mountain, S.C. insisted that it be expanded to include other families with children that suffered similar problems.

Entry fee is $150; $5,000 is guaranteed for first place. The tournament is entered in the bonus programs for Ranger, Triton and Skeeter boats. (Full marks to those companies for being good community citizens.) For details, call Frankie Shealy, (803) 945-1073.
