Floating Greens: The Next Big Thing?

It seems that we never learn to stick strictly to testing boats, because virtually every time we stray afield we get into a sand trap, so to speak. Last week we ran an item on a floating green at the Coeur d' Alene golf resort in Idaho and we took the golf course at it word when it said it was the only floating green in the world. One of our members living in Thailand immediately wrote to say there was one in Bangkok -- the "only" one in Asia. A little research on the net uncovered a company that makes them for a living -- they must be all over.

Ok, we are told by one of our trusty members that this is the only floating golf green in Asia. It is at the Amata Spring Country Club, in Bangkok. Amata Spring Country Club's course can play to a length of over 7,450 yards. Whilst power and accuracy are both required on the longer front nine, finesse and precision are a must on the shorter hazard-filled back nine, particularly on the par 3 17th which at 145 yards boasts the only floating green in Asia.

Please, no letters if this is not the only floating green in Asia. Given the fact that a company called Aqua Green is manufacturing them, soon they will be all over the place.
