at the Palm Beach Boat Show

Monte Carlo Yachts 76
We tested the Monte Carlo Yachts 76 at nearly 30 knots powered by twin MAN 1200s, but the real story of this iconic design can be found in her dramatic entertaining spaces all over the yacht. She has four staterooms.

The folks at Monte Carlo Yachts have asked us to extend an invitation to all BoatTEST members for a special viewing of the MCY 70 and MCY 76 at the Palm Beach Boat Show, March 17 to 20.
If you plan on visiting the show and would like a special viewing of these two yachts, simply click below to receive a “VIP Invitation”.
For those who will not be attending the Palm Beach show, but who are interested in discovering more about the MCY collection, special viewings can be arranged by invitation.

Bavaria Virtess 420 Coupe:

German Engineering in a

3-Stateroom Family Cruiser

Bavaria Virtess 420 Coupe
The salon of the Bavaria Virtess 420 Coupe benefits from the high, broad windows throughout as well as the electronically-activated sunroof.

The Bavaria Virtess 420 Coupe exhibits the company's trademark German engineering and production values in a yacht that has 6'5" (1.96 m) headroom below decks in most areas. A unique optional track system makes the tables and benches in the aft cockpit movable while still securing them in place, preventing them from coming adrift while underway. A sun pad on the coach roof adds usable space without the expense of a fly-bridge with full controls. All wood bulkheads and cabinetry get up to six coats of varnish.

Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius:

Sporty Styling, IPS Drives and an "Atrium"

Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius
Exceptionally large hullside windows amidships and the graceful arch of the roof line are among the many distinguishing features of the Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius.

The Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius express has the cockpit, salon, galley and helm all on the same deck level, adding a feeling of space as well as easing passage while underway. Below decks she has three staterooms separated by a lower level lounge area that makes the boat more accommodating (and private) for two couples during a weekend getaway. Centrally-positioned stairs forward of the helm lead to, if opted for, a wide open atrium which gives her the feeling of a far larger motoryacht in this area. With a 15'6" (4.72 m) beam, she's actually quite spacious above and below decks.

Sea-Doo Spark:

Max Fun for All Skill Levels

Sea-Doo Spark
The Sea-Doo Spark is the company’s entry-level watercraft that is designed to provide maximum fun for all skill levels.

Sea-Doo created the Spark to attract the person that has always dreamed of owning a watercraft but never thought it possible… for multiple reasons. Whether it be price, storage, or that the tow vehicle’s too small… whatever the case, the Spark is the solution. It now makes the decision process of “do I get a new TV or the Spark?”, or “do I go to Disney for the weekend or get the Spark?” a really easy one. As for what we found… this is pure, no frills fun from start to finish.

Chaparral 210 SunCoast:

The Evolution of the Deckboat

Chaparral 210 SunCoast
The Chaparral 210 SunCoast’s cockpit depth will appeal to families looking for a secure-feeling. Note that the side and rear cushioning comes up to the seated bow passenger’s shoulders.

Chaparral’s new 210 SunCoast combines the sporty performance comfort and nimble handling of a bowrider with the space of a deckboat in an attractive family package. With a 200-hp 4-stroke outboard, she darted on plane in 3.4 seconds and ran a top speed of 47.8 mph. The bow has a wider-than-average seating area, which provides good space for adults and the beach boarding ladder and anchor share the same locker. Aft, the swim platform wraps around the outboard on each side. This facilitates moving around the stern and creates launching areas for a variety of watersports.

Evinrude E-TEC G2 200 H.O.s:

62.0 MPH in a Step-V Yellowfin 26

Yellowfin 26 Hybrid
Evinrude's E-TEC G2 200 H.O. produces tremendous torque at low and mid-range to get big offshore boats on plane fast, and also produced good fuel economy in our test runs.

Tested on a Yellowfin 26 Hybrid with a 7,250-lb. (3,288 kg) test weight, the twin Evinrude E-TEC G2 200 H.O.s turning 15 x 24 props produced a remarkable top speed of 62.0 mph. Just as impressive was the fuel economy, with best cruise coming in at 3000 rpms and 29.7 mph, at which the engines burned 9.7 gph for a range of about 325 miles. For those who like to travel out to the continental shelf, this sort of efficiency is a huge plus.

Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge:

All-Weather Flybridge Cruiser

Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge
With two seating areas and a wet bar, the flying bridge of the Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge is as much a social area as the rest of the yacht. Floor to ceiling strata-glass with three-sided zippered openings encloses the aft portion, or this can be rolled up in good weather.

The Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge combines the comfort and luxury of a cruising yacht with the seaworthiness and utility of a bluewater convertible. Add a few options and she's a full-on sportfisherman, or, optioned differently, she's more at home cruising and entertaining. The U-shaped aft galley is centrally located to serve meals and drinks to the aft deck, as well as the salon forward. In addition to the sliding glass door, there’s a hinged window supported by gas cylinders that adds a more open feeling for the chef.

Beneteau Oceanis 41.1:

New Sailing Yacht w/ 4 Interior Configurations

Beneteau Oceanis 41.1
At anchor or underway, the Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 presents a striking picture of a modern sailing yacht.

Offered in a two or three stateroom configuration and one or two heads, the Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 is an intermediate-sized sailing yacht that provides the flexibility of day sailing or racing as well as comfort and space for medium to long distance cruising. Lots of windows and plenty of headroom add a bright, comfortable ambiance to the cabin areas, which are offered in either dark Alpi mahogany of blonde oak finishes. Overall, she's a stylish, low-maintenance yacht with the features of some boats that are much larger.

Hysucat 8.5:

A Hydrofoil Center Console RIB

Hysucat 8.5
Innovative engineering combines RIB inflatable design with a light weight vinylester cat hull and a hydrofoil to produce good efficiency, performance and ride in the Hysucat 8.5.

Buoyancy tubes with seven separate chambers ensure flotation in the Hysucat 8.5 RIB, a unique design that has three hydrofoils to provide lift, increase top speeds, soften the ride and to create balance. The main foil, a stainless steel wing in the shape of a chevron, is positioned slightly ahead of the boat’s center of gravity, spanning the tunnel created by the catamaran hulls. With twin 200-hp outboards pushing the 3,000-lb. (1,360 kg) hull, the builder says she has a cruise speed of between 30 to 40 mph, and a notable top speed of 75 mph.

Mercury Remanufacturing 357 Alpha 4V:

Fresh Power in a Compact Package

Mercury Remanufacturing 357 Alpha 4V
The Mercury Remanufacturing 357 Alpha 4V packs lots of power into a small, relatively lightweight (871-lb./395 kg) package that will fit nicely into a wide variety of runabouts, deckboats and watersport vessels.

Mercury Remanufacturing designed the 357 Alpha 4V to be an inexpensive direct replacement for V-6 and small-block V-8 engines in sterndrives packaged with an Alpha drive. Because it’s equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, the 275-hp (205 kW) 4V offers a power upgrade over production 350-cu. in. MerCruiser engines, which had two-barrel carburetors and made 250-hp. The rebuild includes new stainless steel valves and springs, cast hypereutectic alloy pistons, rings, and bearings, new valve covers, oil pans and water pumps, among other improvements.

SUN TRACKER PARTY BARGE 22 XP3:

Room to Spare in a Tri-Toon Package

Sun Tracker Party Barge 22 XP3
The aft-facing sunlounge on the SUN TRACKER PARTY BARGE 22 XP3 is not only a good spot for relaxing, but also provides a comfortable location for someone to keep eyes on those enjoying towsports behind the boat.

The triple-pontoon SUN TRACKER PARTY BARGE 22 XP3 provides a comfortable entertainment venue as well as a watersports platform for up to ten people. She offers three separate and distinct entertainment venues, as well as a fold-up changing room. By angling the starboard gate area aft, she provides a walk-out that functions as a swim platform and provides access to the outboard.

Prestige Yachts 680:

Open and Airy Interiors, Classic Styling

Prestige Yachts 680
The huge hullside windows on the Prestige Yachts 680 provide a modern styling element as well as lots of light below decks in this sensible design.

The Prestige Yachts 680 is a luxury yacht designed to be practical in both entertaining and distance cruising. She's available in three or four stateroom designs, and is laid out well for the owner-operator, with the master just a few steps from the helm. With an exceptionally shallow draft for a yacht of her size -- just 5'2" (1.58 m) -- she's well suited for cruising areas where deeper draft vessels dare not venture. Twin Volvo Penta IPS1200s give her a variety of equally efficient cruising speeds up to a WOT of 31 knots, but most will probably choose to run her around 2000 rpms and 25.7 mph, at which she consumes 60.5 gph and has a range of around 300 statute miles.

The master stateroom has a center-mounted king-sized berth, and a single shower separates twin heads, where counters and flooring are White Aurora marble. Electric shades quickly provide privacy, covering the large hullside windows when desired. The lower decks are accessed from stairs in the salon that lead to a central marble foyer. Sailfish 325DC:

Dual Console w/ Mini Cabin

Sailfish 325DC
Touches like the entertainment center behind the helm seat distinguish the Sailfish 325DC from the company's dedicated fishing boats, but she still comes well-equipped for angling.

While the Sailfish 325DC has the depth and the bottom design for serious offshore fishing, she also has lots of family-friendly features including a compact cabin in the port console which hides a sink as well as seating and space for a microwave. Flip-down seats all around the cockpit create a gathering area when she's tied up at sundown, but fold out of the way for angling action. A stainless steel ski pylon fits into a transom socket, raising the tow line above the outboards when it's watersports time.

Volvo Penta V6-280:

CO Emission Reduced 95%

Volvo Penta V6-280
The 280-hp engine has a catalyzed exhaust system with wide band oxygen sensors that reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 95%.

Volvo Penta’s V6-280 is one of the most technologically advanced V-6 engines in the marine industry. It’s built on a 4.3-liter (262-cid) aluminum block with aluminum cylinder heads and has closed-loop cooling so saltwater never touches internal parts. Spark-ignited direct injection improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions while variable valve timing optimizes torque through the power range. Volvo Penta’s Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) places all service accessories on the front of the motor, facilitating maintenance, and reducing numerous hoses and hose clamps. The motor is available with SX and Duoprop sterndrives and the new Forward Drive and it has a 5-year warranty.

World Cat 320CC:

Smooth-Riding Catamaran w/ Space

World Cat 320CC
The World Cat 320CC offers the stability and sea-keeping abilities of twin hulls and a 10'6" (3.20 m) beam in a package that's well-equipped for the family as well as for offshore anglers.

The World Cat 320CC is one of the few boats of her LOA range that can be safely operated in unmarked inshore waters thanks to a draft of just 16" (0.41 m). Yet, she's more than ready to take on anything a tough inlet can throw at her, thanks to the fine entry of the twin hulls. With much of her beam carried forward, she has lots of space in the bow seating area in her entertainment mode. With a cozy cabin and standup head, she's a fishing boat with lots of extra attractions.

Cruisers Yachts 338:

New “South Beach Edition” in Gray

Cruisers Yachts 338 Bow Rider
Cruiser Yachts new South Beach Edition has become popular in battlership gray. She is a crossover bowrider with a large cabin below for weekend accommodations.

The mission of the Cruisers Yachts 338 Bow Rider is to be able to host a small army of friends for cruising, picnics, grilling or towing watersports by day, be a sunset cocktail platform in the evening, yet also be an overnight cabin cruiser with sleeping and living accommodations comfortable enough for a couple.
