Cheoy Lee Bravo 72 | Grady White Express 370 | Galeon 560 Skydeck
Cheoy Lee has been building boats since the 1950s, and the Bravo 72 clearly benefits from that expertise, displaying a high level of engineering and rigging. From the wide side decks to the sea chest in the engine room to the steps built into the rode locker at the bow, this build has many seamanlike features.
The Grady-White Express 370 was designed with offshore fishing in mind, and had a top speed in our test of 48.3 mph with triple 300-hp outboards. She’ll get to bluewater in no time. She cruises at 26.2-mph, and with an optimal cruise range of 313 miles, she’ll be able to troll all day, and get back with fuel to spare. For overnights, the cabin area has two berths, a galley, a full head with walk-in shower, convertible dining space (allowing you to sleep six comfortably) and air conditioning — all standard.
Galeon takes inventive design to the next new level on the 560 Skydeck – and its ambition reaches new heights. The sportbridge hides out of sight beneath a sliding carbon-fiber top, and adds another dimension while keeping express cruiser benefits like a huge sunroof and opening windows.
Prestige Yachts use vacuum-bagged, resin-infused hulls and decks that are cored with end-grain balsa, creating maximum strength with minimal weight. Computerized machining helps make the finishing process faster, more accurate, and cost-efficient. The entire process results in a strong, lightweight hull that can be built more rapidly than traditional layup and machining allows, and that can be use smaller, more fuel-efficient engines.
TAHOE® has always specialized in affordable sportboats, but the new 21’ TAHOE 700 is both an entry-level boat and a stylish one. And a single sterndrive propelled her to better than 55 mph in our test.
Safety is key to having a good day on the water, and it starts with the boat: Make sure the vessel is prepared and inspected properly before leaving the dock. That way, the skipper can pay attention to running the boat, keep a proper watch, monitor the way the boat is running, and have confidence she is ready for the day at hand.
