As can be seen in this image, the wheel is almost on the centerline of the console. But why?

One of Robalo’s most popular boats is the R222EX which is the right size for many applications. But its near-centerline helm (it is actually about 4” to starboard) has some of our readers scratching their heads. “Why wasn’t the wheel placed farther to the right or to the left, as most builders design their consoles?” one of our readers asked.
