77 Radar Units Compared | Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius | Mako 414 CC
Radar has come a long way since its invention nearly 80 years ago. Today, radar units for recreational boats come in many different sizes and price points. Each has its own particular set of features and benefits. Most importantly, consumers have a large selection of product capabilities to consider at a wide range of prices – from very affordable to commercial grade.
The Cruisers Yachts 54 Cantius has graceful lines and a LOA of 53'7", a beam of 15'6", and an impressive 8 feet of topsides at the bow, giving plenty of volume belowdecks for a two- or three-stateroom layout – buyer's choice. The VIP in the bow is lighted by full-length skylights, with a sliding screen to provide shade and privacy when desired.
The console of the MAKO® 414 CC has more than enough space for multiple big-screen electronics designed to ferret out the fish as well as keeping tabs on the quad 350-hp Mercury Verado outboards. She's predictably fast, with a top speed of 60.3 mph in our test runs. Her 464-gallon (1,756 L) fuel capacity gives a range of more than 360 statute miles at 35 mph, and the 11'11" beam provides stability when drift fishing or trolling.
Note the radiused corners and grain-matched walnut veneers throughout the galley of the Regency Yachts P65, a mark of the craftsmanship in this 3-stateroom yacht. Other premium touches include Northern Lights 16kw & 20kw generators, an Olympia hydronic heating system, hydraulic davit with inflatable dinghy and 30-hp outboard, wireless network system including a cell-phone signal extender, and lots more. She is one of the best-equipped yachts in class, according to our test skipper.
The Sea Ray SLX 350 OB can be equipped with a hardtop with optional sliding sunroof and joystick maneuvering. She's built to handle triple outboards up to 1,050 horsepower total, ensuring exciting performance – 59.5 mph in our test runs! A small cabin is tucked under the starboard console, while a head is hidden in the port console.
Twin Hull Boats, located in the neighborhood of Black Rock in Bridgeport, CT, is the only authorized Connecticut sales and service dealer for World Cat, Glacier Bay, Livingston, and Seaway Boats.
