The Horizon Power Catamaran PC74 has expansive decks that let guests spread out and get comfortable. The open feel extends to machinery spaces and stowage, making the boat easier to run. And when she gets underway, her level acceleration, stable running attitude, and sharp entry forward to cleave the seas mean the comfort continues for the length of the voyage.
The Formula 350 Sun Sport pushed by twin 480-hp Ilmor 7.4L V8s is all about performance, with a top speed of 57.7 mph, but belowdecks she offers a full galley and wraparound dining area that easily converts to an overnight berth for two. Aft is an added full-size berth for two with a memory-foam mattress. With a 21-degree deadrise, she's a capable offshore performer, and the Ilmor One Drive system makes for easy joystick docking.
The new Mercury Verado 4.6L V8 series includes the largest-displacement 300-hp outboard on the market. The naturally aspirated four-stroke powerhead is designed for more power and greater low- and mid-range torque, and for better acceleration. It’s 35 lb. (16 kg) lighter than the previous-generation Mercury Verado 300, an inline-6 configuration.
The Chaparral 287 SSX combines the style of a classic big-water dayboat with a high-tech Kevlar-reinforced build and welcome freeboard and bow flare, providing a dry ride even on breezy days. The standard Glass Dash features two 7" Garmin touchscreens for complete control of mechanical and electronic systems and navigation. She made good use of the single 380-hp Mercruiser 8.2 MAG HO, with a time to plane of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 50.0 mph.
