The MAKO® 284 CC gets a whole slew of new features when she’s fitted with Mercury’s new 300-hp Verado 4.6L V-8 outboards, including joystick piloting, efficient running, remote electronic oil checks, and much more. But, most important, she is getting state-of-the-art 4-stroke outboard technology.
The L650 Fly is the first Sea Ray boat to ever be built to a CE Category "A", Ocean. Belowdecks are four luxurious staterooms, three heads, with optional crew quarters aft.
Most jet boats are compact and sporty – but the Scarab 255 G has a 25-foot (7.62 m) LOA and an 8'4" (2.54 m) beam, with a carrying capacity of 2,100 lb. (953 kg) or 13 people. There's also an enclosed head, extended swim platform with soft mat and transom shower, plus a table that mounts in three positions. Despite her size, the twin Rotax 4-TEC jets put her on plane in 3.5 seconds.
The cockpit of the Beneteau Gran Turismo 46 blends seamlessly into the main-deck dining area, maximizing entertainment space on deck. The model we tested was the first stepped-hull yacht equipped with Volvo Penta IPS power, and she produced good performance throughout the rpm range, planing in 4.3 seconds, delivering a best cruise at 17.5 knots and 0.9 NMPG, and topping out at 32.3 knots.
Pushed by an 1,812-cc supercharged 4-cylinder Yamaha Marine four-stroke, the Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO is a muscular performer, with an amazing 1.5-second 0-30 time – with one person aboard -- and top speeds faster than most of us want to ride. The NanoXcel 2 ultra-lightweight hull and deck keeps weight down to just 836 lb. (379 kg) dry.
