Hatteras HattCON:
Touchscreen Control of All Systems
The Hatteras HattCON system allows digital touchscreen monitoring and control of all the yacht's system from the helm, and by downloading an app, the skipper can transfer that monitoring and control to a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The screens allow an impressive level of control, right down to changing the temperature in each stateroom, transferring fuel from tank to tank, setting door alarms, and much more, along with all the usual nav and engine monitoring functions. The system even allows for remote diagnosis of issues by Hatteras techs.

SiriusXM Weather App:
Global Reach, Precise Forecasting
Captain Steve reviews the SiriusXM Weather App, a feature he says is a must for serious offshore skippers even in the age of smartphone weather apps. Because SiriusXM is a satellite system, it has unlimited reach. It can be called up at a touch on big-screen displays, and it can be localized to show weather in the precise area of operation, without distractions of too-broad forecasting by Mechanical Mike on the VHF. It also includes skipper-friendly data like wave-heights and ocean surface temperatures, important to anglers, all at a moderate monthly fee.
