The Wellcraft 182 Fisherman is an entry-level center console priced at $29,860 with a Mercury 90 ELPT and single-axle trailer. She has a draft of just 15 inches with the motor up, allowing operation on the edge of the flats where gamefish often hang out, and her 19-degree deadrise, flared bow, and high freeboard make her competent on large bays or outside the inlet on good days. With the optional Yamaha 150 XB, her top speed was 45.4 mph in our tests.

The salon and galley area of the Fountaine Pajot MY 37 takes full advantage of the 16'8" (5.1 m) beam made possible by the twin-hull catamaran design. She's fuel efficient at a cruise of 15.9 knots, attaining 1.4 mpg for a range of 385.2 NM.
