What’s New in Electronic
Helm Displays?

uscg report

The Garmin GPSMAP 942 has an intuitive touchscreen interface and that can deliver loads of data regarding charting, position, speed, and course, as well as providing depth and detail using its built-in sonar.

The screens on the helm dashboards of today’s boats are brighter and better than ever before. The systems that they display have simpler user interfaces and they’re backed up by more powerful computer processors that allow onboard systems to be integrated fully. Even better, these systems are beginning to imitate smartphones and home computers, and add in the functionality boaters want through downloads and upgrades.
