Cruisers Yachts 50 Cantius:
Designed for Dayboating and Cruising
With a two- or three-stateroom layout and Volvo Penta IPS 600 propulsion, the Cruisers 50 Cantius is a smaller version of the builder’s 54- and 60' models. She retains the comfort level and ease of control those larger yachts, but on a smaller scale, and sightlines from the helm were good from both standing and sitting positions. Owner/operators will find her engine room tidy and seamanlike.

Boston Whaler 150 Montauk:
Redesign of a Classic Center Console
The latest model of the Boston Whaler 150 Montauk has the practical layout and traditional lines of the original, but the sharper bow and reshaped hull provide a softer, drier ride and improved handling. Dry weight is just 950 lbs. (431 kg), making her easily trailerable by smaller vehicles, and the standard galvanized trailer has a swing tongue to allow it to fit most garages. How many of us learned to boat on the old version – now it’s time for the grandchildren to learn.

Sea Ray SLX 350:
Twin V-8 Sterndrives Plus Watersports Platform
The aft-facing seat at the transom of the Sea Ray SLX 350 has a raised cushion position that serves as a “behind the knee” support, which is unusual. She has total seating for 18. Powered with twin 300-hp MerCruiser 350 MAG engines turning B-III outdrives, we reached a top speed of 47.2 mph at 5250 rpm. Her large swim platform extends well beyond the outdrives and makes a good place to launch watersports – this is an advantage outboards don’t have.
