Mercury Verado 4.6L V-8 300-HP
Mercury Verado 4.6L V-8 300-HP

Mercury's all-new 300-hp Verado 4.6-liter (279 cubic inch) V-8 outboard weighs 600 pounds (272 kg), 35 pounds (16 kg) lighter than the previous-generation Verado 300, which was an inline-6 configuration. It's naturally aspirated rather than supercharged like the previous version, and is the largest displacement outboard in class, boosting torque throughout the rpm curve. It includes electro-hydraulic steering, a 115-amp alternator, and SmartCraft Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS), which gives responsive control by wire.

Ocean Alexander 85:

Excellent Fit and Finish in a High-Tech Build

Ocean Alexander 85
Ocean Alexander 85

The Ocean Alexander 85 is a four en suite yacht with interior décor to match the best afloat, while holding true to a heritage of rugged sea-going capabilities. Broad windows, sliding glass doors, high overheads, and fine woodwork give the salon the ambience of an ocean-side villa – while still feeling like a yacht and not a cruise ship. The hull is built via vacuum-infused resin, creating a relatively light but strong structure for maximum fuel efficiency.

A little preventive maintenance and regular visual inspections ensure that a boat trailer is ready to run down the highway at upwards of 60 mph, with a precious boat atop it. It really is just that important, so there’s little harm in taking a refresher on the best ways to make sure the boat is secure and the trailer is up to the task.

Have a look at our tips here.
