Mercury Verado 4.6L V-8 300-HP:
More Displacement, More Torque,
and Lower Weight
Mercury's all-new 300-hp Verado 4.6-liter (279 cubic inch) V-8 outboard weighs 600 pounds (272 kg), 35 pounds (16 kg) lighter than the previous-generation Verado 300, which was an inline-6 configuration. It's naturally aspirated rather than supercharged like the previous version, and is the largest displacement outboard in class, boosting torque throughout the rpm curve. It includes electro-hydraulic steering, a 115-amp alternator, and SmartCraft Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS), which gives responsive control by wire.

Ocean Alexander 85:
Excellent Fit and Finish in a High-Tech Build

The hull is built via vacuum-infused resin, creating a relatively light but strong structure for maximum fuel efficiency.
