The Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show opens tomorrow and runs until November 4th. It sprawls across several locations, including the city’s convention center which houses many of the smallest boats in the show. We have tested, made in-depth videos, and written exhaustive Captain’s Reports on 160 of the boats on display. Visit our directory of the 160 tested boats and make your short-list.

Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht:
A Motoryacht Fisherman w/Class
The Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht has been designed with entertaining in mind as well as “sports.” In the image above, we see the aft deck table which seats 10 and the bar adjacent to the galley with two swing-out stools. Riviera calls this a mezzanine because it overlooks the large cockpit, designed for fishing or more entertaining. She has an enclosed sky lounge that becomes a second salon, and an aft upper deck with settee and table. All told, we count six entertaining venues on this boat which is a large convertible motoryacht.

Beneteau Antares 27:
Outboard Family Cabin Cruiser
The Beneteau Antares 27 is an outboard-powered cabin cruiser designed to be a weekender for a couple with family or friends. Twin 200-hp Mercury outboards provide power, with 3.6 second planing times and a top speed of 42.2 mph. The outboard design frees-up storage space where sterndrives would usually be. With two sleeping cabins, wet head, electric toilet, and an affordable price tag, she ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of people.

Hargrave 100 Sassy:
A Proven Hull with Possibilities Built In
The Hargrave 100 Sassy is just one example of this builder’s 101-foot pilothouse motoryacht. She can be customized substantially inside, to allow owners to have just the yacht they want, to use the way they want. Boaters should have a look at the features and onboard space on the Sassy, and then consider what they would change to make her the ideal yacht for their needs.

New Captain's Report
Yamaha 190 FSH Sport:
New Utility Family-Fishing Boat
The new Yamaha 190 FSH Sport is one of the most affordable all-around sport-utility boats on the market in our opinion. With a single jet drive, center console, and T-top, she is ready to fish, tow, be a swimming platform, or just be a fun boat in which to bomb around.

Fleming 65:
Ultimate Long Range Cruiser for the Owner/Operator
The Fleming 65 is a pilothouse motoryacht that uses the full width of the pilothouse for electronics and charting, making it easy to separate the jobs of navigator, helmsperson, and lookout. The exquisite level of woodwork and fit and finish here is the same as that found throughout the living areas. Sliding doors on either side allow the skipper a quick look during docking operations, and a day-head is just a step away. Most important, the company’s owners are experienced world yachtsmen and are dedicated to overseeing work at the factory most of the year.

Southport Boats 33 FE:
Family Edition Fishing Machine
The Southport Boats 33 FE is designated the family edition, but it comes well equipped for fishing, with a standard hardtop including 11 rocket-launcher rod holders welded to the frame on its aft end. The cockpit is surrounded by bolsters to prevent bruised thighs when fighting large fish. There’s a 35-gallon (132 L) livewell in the transom, plumbed to drain overboard, and it’s painted blue inside to keep the fish calm.
