CLA 76 Flybridge | Tahoe 450 TS | Greenline 40 Hybrid
Our surveys indicate that owners of motoryachts in the 76’ (23.2 m) range like an open main deck where people in the salon can see right through to the helm, which gives the boat an open, bright, airy feel. CL Yachts, the newly rebranded luxury yachts division of Cheoy Lee, has done just that with its CLA 76. The new CLA 76 Flybridge is the successor to the popular Alpha Express Series featuring a lightweight, Michael Peters-designed hull. The forward formal dining area seats six to eight, something that is hard to find on a pilothouse motoryacht this size.
With a 14” draft, the TAHOE® 450 TS is easily and safely beached, and a four-step beach boarding ladder at the bow provides easy reboarding for the family. She’s a fully-equipped entry-level package with factory-matched trailer, complete right down to a paddle and fire extinguisher. Buyers can choose gelcoat colors including Black Cherry, Victory Red, Onyx, or Blueberry, as shown here.
When the sun goes down and the lights come on, aboard the Greenline 40 Hybrid there need be no growl of a generator. The reason is that she can draw power from the highly efficient lithium polymer storage batteries, which were previously charged by a combination of solar panels, engine alternator, and the ship’s generator. And, at anchor, other vessels will appreciate those lithium batteries, too.
The appropriately-named Bullet 21SST has an enormous front “office” with more than enough room for two anglers to swing a rod, large locking rod boxes and tackle storage, and a pocket to keep the foot control for the trolling motor where it belongs – all things that tournament Bass Anglers want to have. Large bucket seats keep anglers in place at speeds. Power for Mercury’s high-speed demonstration runs was a Mercury Racing 4.6L V-8 300-hp engine with a Torque Master gearcase turning a 32” (81.28 cm) pitch cleaver prop. Her top speed – reported by Mercury – was 103 mph.
For operators who run offshore or make long cruises regularly, the always-on, satellite-based capabilities of the SiriusXM Marine service offer a huge advantage in planning and operation. The Storm Track function is particularly helpful for the approach of major storms – operators can follow the track from where it originated and its projected course. There are also markers that provide either a historical version of course, travel speed, and wind speed, or the same information projected ahead.
