The new NITRO® Z18 is doing something about that by raising its wind screen deflector. Yes, it will create more drag and slow the boat down a bit, but the advantage is not having a pair of sunglasses with dead bugs plastered on them.

Polar diagrams allow us to graphically see how a boat performs on different points of sail – or, at least should perform. This particular diagram was created in 20 knots of true winds, which is fresh. At 60-degrees off the wind she was making 8.4 knots.
