Fountaine Pajot MY 37:
Light, Strong Cored Construction
Lightweight is a key to good catamaran performance. The Fountaine Pajot MY 37 features light but strong construction of her twin hulls, including parquet-style balsa coring that is then resin-infused via vacuum-bagging to create the most effective resin-to-glass ratio, and avoid excess weight. Balsa core is the preferred coring material below the waterline because it is more puncture-resistant than is PVC foam cores. Vinylester resin, which is used by virtually all builders in the skin coat, stops water migration so the balsa core is protected.
