Schaefer Yachts 510 Pininfarina:
Brazilian Passion Meets Italian Style
Bulwarks fold out to provide a place to see and be seen aboard the Schaefer Yachts 510 Pininfarina – a collaboration between the 25-year-old Brazilian yacht company and the 80-year-old Italian design firm Pininfarina, of Ferrari and Alfa Romeo fame among others. The bulkhead lowers at the touch of a button to form this balcony, and drop-in railings add security. The extension of the teak decking is also standard. This teak is also found throughout the salon and dining area, all on one level to prevent tripping.

Yamaha AR195:
Single Jet w/Steering Keel
Note how the spray comes out from under the hull of the jet-drive Yamaha AR195 starting aft of the windshield, assuring those aboard stay dry until they want to get wet. Powered with a single Yamaha 1.8-liter Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) engine turning the jet drive, the test boat planed in 3.3 seconds and reached a top speed of 48.4 mph (77.8 kph) at 7540 rpm. The included Yamaha Articulating Keel is an extended, steerable keel that moves in relation to the jet pump nozzles to provide much improved directional control while docking or maneuvering.

TRACKER® Pro Team™ 175 TXW:
All-Welded Bass Rig w/57.9 MPH WOT
What TRACKER® calls its “Revolution Hull” has the running surface stopping short of the transom. This reduces wetted surface so top end will be a tad higher. The truncated running surface also feeds a cleaner water flow to the prop, with the engine effectively set further aft, marginally improving acceleration from a stop. In our tests with the optional 150-hp Mercury FourStroke, the boat planed in 3.3 seconds and ran to 20 mph in 5.1 seconds and to 30 in 8.1 seconds. Top speed was 57.9, very fast for an aluminum bass rig like this one.

4.2 MPG Cruise w/Evinrude E-TEC G2 250

Estimated test weight of the stepped hull was 4,035 lbs. (1,830 kg.) – no problem for the high-torque two-stroke, which pushed it on plane in 3.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 52.8 mph (45.9 knots) at 5500 rpm.
