Sirena 58 | Sailfish 275DC | Cruisers Yachts 338 OB
The plumb bow and sharp forward entry of the Sirena 58 cleanly slice waves to smooth the ride at all speeds right up to full throttle at 24.4 knots. Because her hullsides don't narrow as they approach the waterline like most boats, her beam of 17’7” (5.36 m) is carried pretty much all the way to the waterline which maximizes interior living space. She’s capable of extended voyages at displacement speeds powered by twin 650-hp CAT C8.7s. Her 950-gallon (3,596 L) fuel capacity gives her a range of close to 1000 NM at 9 knots. She can sleep four or six, depending on the layout.
The Ranger Reata 200F is a pontoon boat that's fully-equipped for fishing with dual livewells, bow-mount trolling motor pre-wire, two swiveling fishing seats, rod holders, Lowrance sonar/GPS and more, but she’s also dedicated to family fun. Plush, multi-density foam seating is abundant for up to 10 guests. There’s a pop-up changing room which can double to hide a Porta-Potti, a swim platform with a polished stainless-steel reboarding ladder rather than the usual aluminum found on many pontoons, an easy-deployed Bimini with gas shocks and a padded non-skid deck covered in heavy textured vinyl flooring that makes spill cleanup easy.
The bow of the Cruisers Yachts 338 OB has plenty of room to party thanks in part to carrying much of her 10’10” (3.3 m) beam well forward. The South Beach Edition shown here has special upholstery and other premium features. In total, there’s seating space for 16 adults aboard. The walkthrough between the bow and the cockpit is off to the port hand side. This design scheme allows for standing headroom below in the cabin and head. The optional table is removable and a 48-quart (45.4 L) cooler fits under the starboard seat. She comes in both outboard and sterndrive versions.
The Sailfish 275DC is notable for her 47” (1.2 m) of freeboard at the bow as well as for lots of bow flair, both contributing to keeping her dry in sloppy seas and adding buoyancy at the bow when running down-sea. The cockpit depth is 30” (0.76 m) aft and 40” (1.02 m) forward, big pluses when youngsters are aboard. The high windshields also contribute to keeping guests dry and cozy when a chill is in the air.
Boston Whaler is not just another boat company. It is the one that started the whole concept of boats that wouldn’t sink and it is now the largest selling brand in the center console segment. We have visited the plant and offices several times and have an idea of what is going on there. For example, the picture above where classroom training takes place is a rarity in the boating industry. Boston Whaler’s workforce is among the longest-tenured of any Florida boat builder with a turnover rate between 5% and 10%, we were told by management. Experienced workers and a culture of doing things right is a big step in producing a top-quality boat.
The Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht offers dual electric grills on the transom barbie as well as LED lights on the flip-up cover so that the fun can continue after sundown. There are coolers to both sides. The entire assembly lifts up to reveal a tender garage for an inflatable up to 8’10” (2.7 m) long. An electric winch and rails make this operation simple. Heavy stainless-steel guardrails provide security on the swim platform when the chef is at work, but these can be removed when it’s time to launch the dinghy or go for a swim.
Twin 1800-hp MAN engines with low hours and Twin Gyro Seakeeper 9 stabilizers are important equipment aboard this 80’ (24.38 m) yacht with a 20’ (6.09m) beam. She cruises at 25 knots with a top speed of 35 knots, according to the broker. The vessel sleeps eight guests in four cabins (each with an ensuite head). Two crew cabins accommodate three crew members.
