Monday #1
Absolute Navetta 48:
Innovative Bow Master w/Trawler Legs
The Absolute Navetta 48 combines trawler-type practicality with an eye-catching dose of European styling and a smart layout. Note how the master stateroom (seen above), set into the bow, has the bed offset to the starboard side rather than in the bow peak as in most yachts of this size. This makes the bed far easier to get into from either side as well as easier to make up. The huge windows are unusual in the bow, but Absolute builds them strong enough that the yacht earns a CE “B” designation for offshore travel. Headroom here is 6’4” (1.9 m) throughout.

Formula 37 Performance Cruiser:
Swim Platform Welcomes a Party
The Formula 37 Performance Cruiser offers an extended water sports swim platform option with an under-mount swim seat and boarding step. The optional aft-facing sunlounge has multi-position backrests and the trunk storage underneath opens on pneumatic lifts. A gate closes off the port-side passageway to the cockpit. Utility plug-ins and the shore-power cord are to the lower right on the transom. Note the included aft-facing waterproof speakers—she’s definitely ready for a swim party.

Wednesday #1
Everglades 273CC:
Designed to Go Offshore
Many boats in this size range feel like a stretched version of a shorter model, but the 273CC is designed to feel more like a smaller offshore boat than a bigger inshore model. She has relatively tall hull sides, a large livewell and fishbox and a bottom design with 20-degrees of deadrise at the transom. The 273CC also has the versatility that a family is looking for with cruising amenities like bow lounges with removable backrests, seats that fold into the transom, and a private head in the console. Overall, she is a premium build with virtually everything done right.

Thursday #1
Aquila 32:
Power Cat Smooths the Ride
The twin hulls of the Aquila 32 did a good job of smoothing the ride, all the way up to her top speed of 39.4 mph, during our test. Note the sharp chines, carried all the way to the bow of each hull, helping to keep down spray. A wave-splitter between the hulls relieves pressure when riding over waves and prevents “sneezing,” according to the builder. She has a CE “B” Offshore rating. Her 12’8” (3.86 m) beam not only provides beam stability, but also delivers on the remarkable amount of living and stowage space for which catamarans are famed.

Friday #1
Jeanneau Leader 9.0:
Spacious Family Cruiser
The new Jeanneau Leader 9.0 is a twin-outboard-powered 29’11” (9.12 m) family cruiser with a V-shaped hull designed by Michaël Peters. Her cabin has a surprising amount of space for the LOA, in part because the galley is in the cockpit rather than below—there’s a cabinet and sink adjacent the dinette table, but cooking is al fresco. The head includes a vessel sink and a sliding glass door to close off the toilet/shower area from the rest of the compartment.
