NITRO Z18:
Tournament-Grade Bass Rig Under $30,000
The new edition of the NITRO Z18 features upgrades to one of the company’s more popular models and is just the right size for two anglers who want to compete in local and regional tournaments without breaking the bank. Improvements in the 2019 model include an angled panel to mount the bow fishfinder, more leg room under the helm console, and integrated landing net stowage abaft the seats, a nod to Major League Fishing where nets are legal. Rigged with the standard 150-hp Mercury FourStroke, 24-volt Minn Kota trolling motor and two deep cycle batteries, Lowrance Hook2 5” sonar and a color-matched trailer, she lists for $29,995. Or, upgrade to the 175-hp Mercury Pro XS 4-stroke as we did for our test runs. She topped out at 62.5 mph and is priced at $32,635.

Cruisers Yachts 42 Cantius:
Glass Dash/Armrest Control
Cruisers Yachts 42 Cantius has two large 12” (30.5 cm) screens to show all engine and operational information as well as sonar, navigation, weather, and lots more. This not only creates a very clean design but also eliminates a bevy of analog gauges that can malfunction as the seasons go by. Note how the compass is centered on the steering wheel, a plus for those times when a bit of magnetic reassurance is called for on top of the electronics. A control on the starboard armrest allows the skipper to control the functions of the screens while sitting back in the plush double-wide captain’s chair.

Evinrude E-TEC G2:
Automatic Winterization
While it’s time to be launching boats for the season, it is a good time to remember one of Evinrude’s best “No Hassle/No Cost” features: its built-in winterizing process. To "Winterize" just touch the virtual button. With the "iLink" system, this can even be done with a smartphone. In seconds, the engine begins double-oiling the engine. It runs for 90 seconds then shuts itself off automatically — job done!

The Absolute Navetta 48 brings the outdoors in with huge windows, high overheads, and lots of light, plus broad sliding glass doors join the aft deck to the main living area. A frosted glass screen can separate the galley from the salon at the touch of a button and a flat screen TV option is offered, rising from behind the port sofa. A/C and heat vents are tucked unobtrusively into the valence overhead.

Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62:
Teak Beach & Jet-Powered Tender Included
The Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 has an optional 9’6” (2.9 m) Williams jet tender that fits neatly into a garage in the transom. The hydraulic transom lowers to become a teak beach or to become a launch ramp for the dinghy so that the tender can be rolled out and down into the water. An electric winch at the forward end of the garage retrieves the dinghy to stow it neatly out of the way. The center section of the platform stows a boarding ladder as well as retractable launch wheels for the dinghy.
